Last week I had to return a drive for warranty and they have a specific Packaging requirement or, the drives are returned.... I guess NewEgg didn't have those instructions when they sent me these....
The customer service person I first spoke to didn't know what a hard drive was, (nor did they care, Not their Job).... had no idea why I was upset.... I just have to ask anyone here on this tread see this as a problem? I have been in the computer business for over 30 years I have never encountered anything like this
Does anyone else see the problem or am I just being too hard on them?
blue for storage
red for nas
purple for cam
gold for business
green for cheapness

Better to get Surveillance drives, rated to run 24/7. WD Purple.Sr71 and I had a good chat below. Take a look. Purple and Red are near equivalent except for nuances. And why 4 drives?
But yes, you could use these.

NAS drives ARE rated for 24x7 - the Purple firmware is just tuned to handle multiple streams
sure, NAS drives are just better spec'ed for 24x7 as mentioned - and mechanicals that handle a small enclosure and reduced vibration associated/needed with multiple drives.

I don't expect the person who packed that box to last long at their position.

Thanks for the post, I will not be ordering this (and yeah, I have been working with PC since early 90s with 1Mhz and turbo of 2Mhz speed, yes, we had a turbo button back then)..
