It it possible to have slower seek performance. Why is this being advertised as a game drive?

because other external drive such as the WD Element line will have snail slow 25MB/sec performance and this one is around 115-125MB/sec

I picked up the 2TB version ~2 years ago for $35 during one of those "Extreme YMMV at Wal-mart" Slickdeals. Using Brickseek, I gambled 50 miles roundtrip to go to the only Walmart in town that showed "in-stock" - and I got lucky. This thing feels super PREMIUM in the hands (e.g. the metal top-half of the case). Of note - the 2TB version is much thinner than the 5TB version. The biggest flaw with the 2TB model IMO (as to why they perhaps had to liquidate it) is that the MSRP is ~$119. If you're keen on deal-seeking, you can usually get an external portable 2TB SSD for only ~$60 more. This 5TB HDD version makes sense because I don't think I've ever seen a 5TB external portable SSD - even if they do, it'd probably be at least $400+ considering that the Samsung 4TB QVO 2.5-inch internal SSD is $380.

7200rpm portable drives don't really exist because 7200rpm 2.5" drives don't really exist. You might find an older 1TB on eBay or a 2TB enterprise drive for ~$300, but anything new is pretty much guaranteed to be 5400rpm.TravisO2

Nonsense. I own this P10 and the EasyStore 5TB. They're pretty much the same thing.

I bought a 1tb HGST touro 7200 rpm in 2016, i figured by now theyd had larger drives at that speed :/, i did notice that the write speed is about 110 mbps, seems to be right in line with 5400 rpm anyway

I got one too. Must be the supply chain issue and overseas shipping cost increase that caused the price hike.

Naa couldn't be Brandon says he fixed the supply chain issue and our shelf's are stocked!
