Very tempting. Not sure what I'd cook in it that I can't cook in my skillet, though.
.
Small batches of soups, chili, etc., for one to three people, camping, etc. We use the small ones for stove to table and they reheat really fast on an induction burner. Smaller, they are easier to clean. Sure, nothing you cannot do with a skillet, but a lot of people like the two handles on this and other cast iron cookware, including the larger skillets, for stability when hot.

And no tomato based soups because those destroy the non-stickness of seasoned cast iron. NOT that it's cannot be re-seasoned, just less than ideal, especially when not done knowingly. Ask my wife how she now knows…

I have heard that, but for decades and like our grandparents, we have been making red sauces in cast iron. But, we also use lard when frying chicken or even fish. Of course, there is also the grease from frying bacon or sausage.
We don't baby cast iron and use it for everything. Now, if the pans/skillets get too dingy, we just leave face down in oven on self clean and they come out new (hot campfire does similar).... and time to fry some more bacon or sausage to get seasoning back.

This is primarily an issue with freshly seasoned cast iron, as the seasoning builds up it becomes less of an issue. (Lodge has mentioned this on their instagram too)
I wont cook tomato based dishes in my less used cast iron, but my 10" daily driver, and my antique 12" griswold handle tomato dishes perfect.
