Wym? The Nintendo membership only has snes nes, sega and n64 games that u do not/will not own… they don't sell them digitally…the Nintendo membership isn't like gamepass where u can play Mario oydessy or Mario kart 8 deluxe u have to buy those either digitally or physically….

Physical games like the Nintendo switch have held value. Botw still regularly sells for $40 used game is 5 years old…Mario kart 8 will probably be $50 used once the booster pass comes out also soon to be 5 years old.

Thank you, this helps!

5 months is different than a year and a half…

When Nintendo dropped the price to the 3ds they had to give away 20 games to satisfy people who bought in at first….they are not doing that again lol…but keep waiting for the pro like people have been waiting for the past 4 years lol.
If you really think 6 months is that big a difference, have as it. That's up to the buyer whether or not they are fine with having their OLED model be outdated in 6 months. I'm speaking for myself; just stating the facts. Paying MSRP for an overpriced product upgrade thatll be outdated that quickly is silly.

A lot of complaints of people receiving used units, rather than new ones.

Pretty sure they released the revised Wii, Wii U, and Wii Mini all within like a year and a half of each other lol. Similarly with 3ds/2ds/LL. And with credible leaks floating around as well, I say one gets announced before Q4.
There was no revised Wii. And Wii Mini was barely a thing. It was a model designed to be low cost to sell to people who hadn't bought the Wii yet.

And there are no credible leaks.

Sure in 2024 they might have Switch 2. Not going to hear about it this year.

Not leaks directly about a Switch upgrade, but better than a mere rumor; the leak regarded Nvidia's new mobile chip that has a lot of particular design features reminiscent of the OG Switch's...

Also yes, there was major revision of the Wii, albeit not marketed. Still, that doesn't answer for the Wii Mini and all the 3ds/2ds iterations in quick succession.

Nvidia makes a lot of chips. That isn't a credible Switch rumor. NIntendo used an old Nvidia chip for the Switch.

And there wasn't a major revision of the Wii. That's nonsense.

And Wii Mini was a nothing burger. And actually was released after the Wii U.

Nah. The upgraded resolution is nice to have but thats all there really is to it. Hardwarewise upgrade, I would not recommended.

The only advantage is if you are using the handheld as thats where the OLED screen would make it more crispy clear as opposed playing on console.
The resolution is exactly the same, it hasn't been upgraded at all. The display technology (OLED) is the upgrade. Its a good upgrade to someone who has an original model switch as they'll get twice as good battery life and a screen with much better contrast and a dock with a built in ethernet port.

I also recommend the new-ish Big Brain Academy. There are plenty of clever puzzle games on the eShop as well. You're in for a good time!

If there is math involved, I'm out. lol! I'll check them out. Thanks!

Any suggestions on whether to own games or get the nintendo membership?
If I had to choose between buying Switch games or subscribing to Switch Online, I would buy games. For me, the Switch Online is just a plus.

Any deals on a pro controller? I've been looking for the last 2 months since I got the OLED. Wish I thought this through ahead of time during BF...

I want one so bad! Mainly for the screen. But it's hard to justify replacing my hacked day one Switch that is still going strong...
For me, I would need to look at how often I play in handheld. If it's a few hours a week, it might be worth it. If it's once a month, it would be harder for me to to justify. Because I play casually, I would put it towards the next gen Switch that could release in a couple of years.

Yes and no. The Wii was revised soon after the OG shipped but it was a downgrade to remove Game Cube compatibility. There was 6 years between the Wii and Wii U. The time interval of Nintendo generational launches does vary between 5-7 years, but within that range, the more popular a console the longer Nintendo waits to replace it.

The Switch is 5 years now so it is in range, but it's also very popular so 5 or even 5.5 years seems unlikely, even more so with the state of the CE industry right now begging for parts. I follow all the Switch rumors and see nothing to suggest a generation replacement this year. Maybe we'll get an announcement by E3 2023 and ship late 3Q.

Yet another thumbs down for "not a good price."

If you want stock alerts, sign up for stock alerts. I'm here for slick deals.

I know SD will continue to shill trash posts because they get $$$ from these referral links, but I'm still doing my part.

Might be better to get a Steam Deck if you already own a Switch. Imo this is near pointless since it's not 4k
