I logged into my Verizon FiOS account (via iOS app) and much to my surprise received an offer for an upgrade to 300/300 from 200/200 for the same monthly price of $39.99 and no change in terms (no contract with autopay). I am based in PA, US. The only hardline competition locally for me is Comcast Xfinity with some coverage for T-Mobile 5G broadband (which may be influencing the offer).
I did not receive a mailer either physically or electronically. This simply came up as an option when I clicked on Internetโ>Upgrade my speed. Granted I had already been receiving speeds above 200/200 prior to the upgrade, but this formalizes it.
Autopay via bank account or debit card is required, at least for my account.

I already have fios 100mbps, and trying to upgrade to 300/300. Price shows that my new plan will be the same price as my current. But when I try to check out, I have to schedule an appointment for installation. Anyone know why?
I got the same spiel
The reason is so many customers are still att 100 or below. And would need to have their data switched from coax to ethernet.
I ran some speed tests before, and was getting around 220 up and 170 down. Hopefully I see an increase in speed after the account changes take effect.
That sounds like you were on WiFi with that ratio.

I had called last year as I had 100/100 and they said they could upgrade it to 300/300 at the same monthly cost but that they would have to install either a new ONT or something to change from coaxial to cat5 as coaxial could not give that speed. Installation cost would have been about $300. I declined

It could be because you have a coax connection to your ONT. When I switched to Verizon, the installer said he would have to upgrade the coax to Ethernet if had over 100/100 service.

Just FYI 100/100 is the fastest you can go on just coax. Modem will need to plug in Ethernet and coax at 200/200 or above
Edit. Wow the timingโฆ lol
I pay 39.99 flat, no taxes
That said, trying to switch my account to the 300/300 plan to properly reflect what I'm actually getting, AND I DONT SEE A WAY TO DE-SELECT DISNEY which they seem to be adding on for another $7.99. Anyone else figure this out?
I have the same problem. Such BS
I logged in and was offered to upgrade from 400/400 to Gigabit for $10/mo ($69.99/mo- i remember it being either $79.99 or 89.99 before). Additionally, it includes their their "whole home WiFi" package, which is the latest WiFi 6 gateway w/ 1 optional extender (advertised as bundled with the gateway, but fine print says to contact support to request it. I opted to pick the Gateway from the local store so I'll request at the same time).
I currently have a G1100 Gateway, but it only serves to create a MoCA network to extend my network upstairs. Been looking at newer MoCA 2.5 kits anyway, which run ~$110. If this works out, for that same cost we'll have a year of Gigabit AND MoCA 2.5. Worth it.
Regarding the free upgrade from 200 to 300, it might be in name only. I don't think Verizon has sold the 200 plan for close to 5 years now (at least in my area), and about a year or so later were provisioning those accounts for 300 without telling anyone. You may have already been getting those speeds without formally having the plan.
I have an old ONT box as well,
I just had them change the handoff from coax to Ethernet. Currently getting 300/300
