Note this is a 10/11 gen mobo, and if you want 12th gen, it wont work.
Pass for me. Z590 mobo is 11th Gen intel. For price-performance value, the i5 12400 is the sweet spot. Needs a z6xx mobo that supports ddr4 to be hot. A z690 would give you a solid upgrade path.
Don't get hung up on the 12th gen Techtooober hype.

only downside is....it's Intel....laugh out loudlaugh out loud

Ya, I saw the listing:
https://www.microcenter.com/produ...+PCs+Broad

it didn't say anything about the motherboard in the description so kind of concerns me (it was listed in the title)

If you price it all out you're getting the GPU for $275. But some of the components are kinda meh and overpriced:

I'll post a basic ~$1000 build when PPP stops lagging.
You don't benefit from the fast ram. You don't need an expensive liquid cooler. If you're going to spend $230 on a z590, you might as well buy a z690 + 12600k for the same money combined. Why combine an overpriced 2tb m.2 ssd with a 6tb hdd? You would be fine with a 1tb m.2 for OS (~$90 for a fast one) then add the storage drive. Then you added in a super overpriced bronze PSU?

Such a non-comparable, nonsense build. What was the point?

Considering the gpu alone goes for this much from scalpers this is really reasonable

ASUS has the worst branding ever. ROG Strix stuff is RGB puke with their weird logo and "TUF Gaming" is about as lame as brand identities come. Who wants this crap displayed all over their rig?

I feel like you're spending too much time on reddit. LMAO

- The PSU comes with the barebones.

- Always get fast, reasonably priced ram, especially with an overclocking CPU.

- 2TB SSD with the cheapest per TB name brand 6TB HDD is a very good real world combo

- The Z590 Prime comes with the barebones. It's a decent MB.

- I picked the Asus cooler because it matches the case, and because I knew it would piss off you in particular. I buy EVGA coolers personally.

Hey if you want to go out and buy a Case, 3060Ti, name brand 750w Gold PSU and Z690 for $700, I'll wait. I'm sure you'll be right back.

Upcoming 13th gen CPU will work in 12th gen mobo's. So it kind of matters from a longevity standpoint.

You could spend a few bucks more and get slightly nicer parts in various spots, but this is perfectly serviceable. Solid for 4K gaming and most 1440P gaming. CPU might run out of steam on some 1080P high fps games.
3060ti + "solid 4k gaming" probably shouldn't be used in the same sentence. Did you mean solid 1080p gaming and most 1440p?

How hard is it these days to install a CPU? Do we still have to mess with thermal paste?

Oh wow, someone knows how to use PCPartPicker lol. I don't get how this is supposed to be helpful when anyone can do this? Besides, half the parts you listed aren't even in stock or available at retailโ€ฆ which is why this build is appealing. Whatever.
