For those that need the stand you can buy it for $99 at Best Buy

For me this Tv replaced a CX and I think its a better set
The better Tv tuner alone in this TV is worth $100 IMO

Stellar TV...I have owned it for 6 months and I paid more than this...Mad

It does appear that Amazon has price matched AND you still get 10% back if you use your Amazon Prime Visa card. Making it $1530 before tax.
the tuner in this is set up for next gen, 4k OTA if you watch sports Smilie

Some C1's have the evo panel, but unless you see the box, no way to tell.

Id do the G1...there is a certain place that doesnt charge tax that I bet you can get the G1 cheaper for....the place that shall not be named on slickdeals
I got lucky with deal last time. Open box was $1100. Picked it up and verified floor model when I got home. Had 8k hours and burn in. LG denied my claim for replacement (others said they were replaced even though open box). Went back to best buy and explained situation. After 4th person I spoke with they said they will swap out a new one for free. They came and got old and gave me new in box. Not bad for 1100.

Careful, best buy no longer labels display models as such, they call them open box. Went to grab an 83" c1 open box for 2400 and it had 6700 hours on it....make sure you plug it in and check at the store. LG will not cover panel replacement on open box fyi.
If you buy the Geek Squad protection plan from Best Buy...burn in is covered

One can make that option work in their favor....nod

It's meant to not have a stand....it's advertised purely as a wall mount tv....

Why should it include a stand? Lol
$99 should you want a stand

Ebay is your friend as well...I paid $79.00 for one back in December

So pay open box price then add the geek squad warranty to bring it to the price of a brand new one.. then go thru the hassle of waiting for them to replace the panel?

Does the 65" G1 have the heatsink as well? I know that now all EVO panels have heatsinks.

No, the G1 does not have a heatsink. The A90J is the only 2021 model (not sure about the Panasonic's that we don't get here) that had one.

The C2's don't have one either. Only the G2 has one

Good luck with that.

Normal wear and tear isn't covered by the warranty. They will look at the hours and say "sorry boss, this is normal wear and tear"

I dont know what math you are using

But in my personal situation
I bought an open box unit and the 5 year Geek Squad plan...this was a few years ago
The burn in was VERY slight...so much so that it took me some time to even see it
It was something that only showed up in about a full red screen
I made the claim on the warranty plan about 18 months into having the TV
Best Buy gave me my full purchase price back in the form of a gift card and let me keep the the broken TV

The way Tv prices were dropping on OLED my gift card had a lot more buying power 18 months later
So I bought another TV from Best Buy and sold the broken one on CL for $450

In regard to the hassle you mention
Trust me..you would rather deal with Best Buy Geek Squad warranty than LG directly

Normal wear and tear isn't covered by the warranty. They will look at the hours and say "sorry boss, this is normal wear and tear and not due to mfg issue"

All the warranties have a Clause around use coverage ...

Check reddit for the claim deny stories or my personal favorite...the "due to supply chain issues we will cut you a check in lieu of repair for far cheaper then what it would actually cost to replace"

Best Buy Geek Squad dont look at the hours..they will check the serial number
I know for a fact that in the X7 series OLED days you could reset the hours in the menu anyway
I dont know if that is still the case

I'm using the current open box excellent price + the cost of a 5 year warranty is only $100 less than buying new. There would be no hassle with LG buying new as the panel would not need to be replaced.

Maybe..maybe not. People have had panel failure with brand new in the box televisions
Remember you have a full parts and labor transferable warranty with the Best Buy Geek Squad plan
After year one LG only pays parts..no labor
One claim, after the first year, and the gap in total cost widens

Additionally if you sell the Tv after say year 3 or 4 that Geek squad warranty is transferable to the new owner
Not the case with the LG factory warranty

If you sell that television at say year 4 with a year of Best Buy warranty left on it the new buyer wont care that it was bought open box..only that it has warranty

That is accurate ....LG will not cover a panel( and perhaps other things as well) under warranty for a Tv that was bought open box

Amazon matched and has the extra 5% when using the Amazon prime card. That's what I was waiting for. I wish Costco carried this model.

After 4th person I spoke with they said they will swap out a new one for free. They came and got old and gave me new in box. Not bad for 1100.

Wow you got extremely lucky and I'd say most people won't be so fortunate! I have a story from hell with my latest open box Oled purchase from BB…

I bought an Open Box Excellent G1 65" a few weeks ago for a little more than you paid AND I bought the 5 year geek squad warranty in case I wanted to sell it in the future.

The TV was in bubble wrap with no box but they assured me it was a return and not a floor model. I got home and there was 7,500 hours with massive burn in of the LG logo in the middle of the screen! I called LG and they refused to repair it and said to return it to BB. I called Geek Squad and they said the same thing.

When I brought the tv back, I told them it was not open box excellent and should be recycled. The manager refused to give me a new G1 or any new TV for a discount so they took a few hundred off a C1 65" Open Box Excellent Certified. When I got home, it was missing the stand and it wouldn't even power on! When I went to the store to exchange it, they accused me of breaking it! Then they said there were no more 65" open box oleds and the only option was a refund or "discount on accessories".

The worst part is they turned around and listed the G1 for sale again on the website for the same price I paid! I've bought open box TV's and appliances at BB for years. I bought my C9 open box with 50 hours on it. I'll never buy open box at BB again after that catastrophe! If you get a set with low hours it might be worth it but be prepared for the worst and don't say I didn't warn you!
