I understand your sentiment and logic. But the use cases are different. I own firestick, fire cube and the apple tv 4k, use the fire cube the most. But it is also true tat I feel apple tv 4k is a better device when theres an iphone and macbook around. But yup, if someone does not have apple devices, then fire stick makes more sense.

I've been using the Apple TV 4K for years, and I highly recommend it as well. My first Apple TV 4K allowed me to enjoy my Sony 4K TV from 2015 again. The OS on the Sony is so slow, and the built in Chromecast playback is choppy as well. The Apple TV 4K has been amazing ever since.

I have Apple TV 4K (Gen 1), two Roku Ultras, a FireTV and an NVIDIA Shield - this is the lowest price I've seen for an Apple TV 4K (64GB), why not another for my second TV. Now I can workout with Fitness+ in any of the two rooms. Thanks!

Might have to sell an Apple TV 4K if we get a new release later this year. Peace

I'd say yes. It's the best streaming device interface, snappy, and has a robust ecosystem if you use any other streaming service (Netflix, Paramount +, Hulu, etc.). Is it a "must have?" Of course not. But if you're in the market for a quality streaming device, its a good one.

I have an older, non 4k Apple TV and it is still my preferred streamer over my new 4k Fire Tv. The interface is better and it's actually still faster than the Amazon TV.

I also use Air Video HD on my iPad to stream content from my computer. It pretty much works flawlessly. I had been using Plex for a while but I found it easier to just stream it using this program on my iPad.
