Woot has a bunch of different Greenworks options for mowers. I was looking at this one at the best deal, but am having a tough time figuring out which option is truly the best. What makes this one superior to the others?

This one uses 2*24 v in series it powerful enough for thick grass. The 24 v batteries are interchangeable with their other tools, so it good for those who want to stay in their 24 v eco-system. It is self-propelled, good for those who don't have flat lawns and comes with 4 (4ah) batteries.
Either one of those battery is dead and your mower is dead. Does the charger also charge both at the same time? If not than that's double the wait time and you have to remind yourself to come back to the charge the 2nd battery, else can't use your mower right?
Comes with 4 batteries and 2 chargers. That should suffice.

I owned this one for a while, here's my opinion… if you have a very small yard, it's great. I used it when I lived in AZ where the grass rarely grew and it was a real small area. However, when I moved to the Midwest and got a yard that is only 1/4 Acre… this this was impossible to use. If your grass grows healthy then you'll have to mow very often because the mowers blades won't cut tall/thick grass blades. It started to damage my lawn so I had to sell it off.

I have been meaning to move to electric, and in Midwest with 1/4th acre lawn. In your opinion, what is a good one to buy.. for tall thick grass.. should I stick with gas? Thanks. I saw this post ready to pull the trigger until I read your post... also the discount in price seemed too good to be true.. is this a very old model?

Get a 40V, 60V, or if you find a good deal on an 80V mower do that. I wouldn't touch these 24V versions unless you have other tools which use the 24V ecosystem. The newer mowers with higher voltage can take two batteries (e.g. 2.5 or 4.0 amp hour) and automatically switch between them as they deplete. They can also run on 1 battery if you need to. Greenworks is trying to make the best of the 24V system, but there are better options out there if your budget allows.
I recently bought the Costco green works 80v self propelled mower. I've learned green works is a lot like instant pot as they have a lot of sku's that are very similar which makes it confusing. Their own website doesn't make it easier to understand which is which.
80v seems their most powerful down to 18v or 24v being the least powerful and everything in between (some items using two batteries to double the voltage output).
If you're looking for gas equivalent and mowing 1/2 acre or more and it's long wet grass etc probably need at least 80v+ anything less or easier lawn wise will probably be ok with less but it's always nice to have more than you need.
With electric, the batteries and charger are an expensive part of things so unless you already have batteries make sure you factor that in or that they are included like this deal.

Two *dual port* chargers, so you can charge all 4 batteries at once. According to the greenworks site these 4ah batteries take 60 min to charge on this charger, so if you can't finish the job in the 70 min run time they quote, you'll have to wait 60 min.
But, since this only runs on one pair of batteries at a time you could in theory swap out the discharged pair to get a 35 min head start and only have 25 min of downtime once both pair are exhausted.

From the pics it looks like it uses all 4 batteries at a time

Yes, good for someone already in their 24 v eco system. Mower works with 2 in series so you get more power with 48 v compared to just 24 v

Charge them all overnight
You put in all 4 and it swaps between pairs once the first pair is discharged. It actually only runs on 2 at a time.
