I bought this processor on Prime Day for $332. This is the cheapest price since then. I've been extremely happy with my 5900X, it hits over 4.9Ghz boost and crushes any games I've tried to play at max settings (teamed with a 6900XT).

People are going to say to wait for the next gen. Well I saw the prices and the 7000 series version of this process is $600, the 8 core 7700X is $300 so buying this is not going to be a bad choice unless you really think you'll want to upgrade CPUs every couple years on the AM5 platform. This processor benchmarks 41800 passmark on my system.

The 5800X is a great processor, but what is it selling for now? Last I saw was 289. Which would probably make sense to wait for the new series in that case. I'm sure the 7700X will outperform the 5800X at 300 bucks. The 5900X benchmarks 41800 in my system, the average 5800X passmark is 28000 so it's a big multithread performance gains for only $60 at these prices.
