IMO, I would get the Air over this. The M1 Air will do everything this can do (everyday general use and some work). I personally don't see enough of a difference to justify the extra cost. The Air form factor is also nicer. For reference my wife has an M1 Air and I have a loaded M1 Max that I use for work.

A "Pro" laptop with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Wonderful.
There are more and better features in a "Pro" version than an "Air" version. Not everyone creates 8K video or cures cancer with it.
I bought it over the weekend when BB had an extra $50 off for members, plus trading in an old MBP 2017 base model and had some rewards dollars so this works out to a very inexpensive M1 MacBook for me and fits my needs perfectly.
This will have a faster SSD than the M2 MBP or MBA. So there's that, too.

Kind of curious what was the trade in that they have you for the 2017 mbp? I have a non Touch Bar and am curious about trading it in for this deal.
Battery life and performance on these are excellent and keys have a nice concave design. It's a great little machine and my only gripe is the bezel size. You might be able to snag an open box one for less in a month or two, but this is a nice price for new.
