I picked up my TV this morning and I have some advice based on my experience:

First - DO NOT UPDATE THE TV IF IT COMES WITH FIRMWARE 1098 OR 1211 INSTALLED. I would highly recommend avoiding the Wi-Fi setup all together to ensure this. If you do setup Wi-Fi (which you shouldn't because Tizen is an awful operating system in the first place), make sure to go into the setting immediately and ensure auto updates are off. YouTube has a lot of info on the firmware situation.

Second - You absolutely need a second (or third person) to help. Make sure you follow the unboxing instructions to the letter of the word. There are a lot of horror stories about people bending their units because of how thin the panel is, and the hoops you have to jump through to install the foot base. You absolutely need a flat and padded surface to lay the TV on. We used an inflatable mattress and a microfiber blanket.

Third - As an add-on comment, I highly recommend picking up an Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, or 4K Chromecast. Tizen UI is horrendous, slow, and has ads. Other than that, this TV is incredible for the price.

Your comment cannot be blank.

Aren't we already in a recession according to objective measures?
I think companies are unloading inventory across the board, in case there is a recession next year.
Nice! I'm still going to wait more since every month is dropping price little by little

For those interested C2 (77inch) vs this, I had bought this deal a few weeks ago and thought the 77 inch C2 would be comparable, especially with the bigger size being a positive.

To my surprise, I could not stay with the C2 77 inch after seeing the pure quality of color, brightness and pop of this S95. I've returned the C2 77 inch.

I did not have any bent screen issue with my S95, but two (yes two) of my Lg C2 had a significant bend and small bend screen issue. Amazing how Samsung had no bent screen when it's so much slimmer.

How much do u pay for 75u8h...Also how is the upscaing 1080p content .are u OK with quality of 75u8h over Samsung ? This will be a deciding factor fr me, please let me know, thanks

I tried the u8h for a week, wanting to like it and save cash. Ultimately, I was getting pretty inconsistent picture and also bought the s95b. Today, I returned the u8h... the u8h is not in the same league for any of it's out of the box picture modes or when I calibrated with an xrite.i would say that the rtings metrics may lead you to believe they are closer in performance or that the u8h is rated higher for sdr and hdr performance, but it is far below the Samsung in the intangibles and unmeasurable.

we can get two hamburgers(a gourmet and cheap one) and manipulate them on paper so that fat content, protein, sodium all come close from a metrics point of view.... but that doesn't mean they taste the same. that's what I feel like rtings and YouTube reviews try to do... compare metrics without really discussing the subjective, that's not measurable.

the YouTube reviews and the metric data that instrumentally say they are so close.... doesn't convey what my eyes saw. the u8h looks good with curated 4k demo content and animated features only. every other content was poor for me on the u8h or paled in comparison when put side by side with s95b. the Samsung was great across the board with less adjustment per source.

I'm just glad I had the budget, room and time to test them side by side. this TV buying experience made me understand why brick and mortar stores only show curated content and don't let consumers try their own content in the store. it also opened my eyes to how much trust to really put into "reviews" and click bait YouTube titles such as "how far off is the u8h to s95b" ....

Has anyone gone with a third party All-State protection plan for this and would that be a viable solution or is the plan junk?

I bought mine from Costco, but hoping you can help. I have the 65" Samsung OLED, I also bought the Samsung hw-q990b from Jeff B. I have an UHSpeed HDMI cable connecting the two through eARC. I have a new Ultra Roku plugged into the TV.

My problem is there is a huge delay between voice and picture. I've made the setting on the sound bar and TV to 0 (any adjustments delays it further). Any idea what the issue might be? Should I plug the Roku into the soundbar?

First time I had this issue, soundbar was connecting via Bluetooth, not eARC. Make sure it's connected via eARC.
If that isn't the case, connect roku via soundbar. There shouldn't be much of a difference in performance.

Putting it in the sounds directly the 2nd time resolved the issue enough that I could adjust the audio synch. Thx.

Went to Best Buy and saw this again. Samsung did a good job because it still looked good under the bright lights. Most oleds and leds look washed out under Best Buy lights but this looked fantastic. The reflection handling is good too because when i shined my phones flashlight on it it didn't faze it. But when i did the same to the QN90........ good lord that rainbow!

I never realized that EPP wasn't just for Samsung employee discount but also "Employee Partner Program", e.g. other companies that have a work discount program with Samsung. I just created an account with my work email address and I see it as $1800. Can someone who had a EPP account where it was $1400 see if this is still alive at $1400?

I was able to find a 55" s95b open box satisfactory condition at Best Buy for $912 + tax. Box was damaged but everything inside was brand new.

They are selling the 55 inch on eBay for under $1200 from multiple sellers, if anyone was interested.

I finally got mine up on my tv stand and the old stand still worked.

I have the 65 inch.

Am I the only one leaving up the screen film protection ....that's still on the TV?

Anyone?

My first one didn't have the white tab in the corner that was attached to the screen protector film and I messed up the anti glare coating, that stuff will peel off ruining the tv. Ask me how I know Mad
