My experience with WD's direct shop has been pretty terrible ā€” they shipped the two I bought some weeks ago inadequately protected and one of the two was DOA. They now want me to ship it back to them at my cost for a replacement in 7-10 days, or they wanted $25 to do an advance RMA. I was annoyed, but paid up, and now it's been a week with no response or update on where the replacement drive is.

Seems like a FP deal to me, especially since the last ones have been at $300. Nice find OP!

With the PayPal 12% and a lot of chase cards doing 5% cash back this quarter, could potentially be ~$240 all said and done.

This vs 14TB Red plus? They both seem to be CMR 7200RPM. This has a five year warranty vs. The years for the plus, and the pro also has a faster transfer rate which I don't quite understand. There's complaints about noise on the pro.

Have you gotten PayPal cashback before? I recall reading they don't honor it.

Eventually you'll get an email asking if you forgot something and still want to check out, it may or may not include a 15% promo code. This could take an hour to a day to receive the email.
