Is this a good deal? MSRP seems laughable.
The Xbox Series S/X is weird when it comes to "Optimized for Series S/X". You'll see that badge in your library and on Xbox.com. Some games that are tagged "Optimized for Series S/X" will run from external storage. Other games that need the faster speeds will have to run from the internal SSD or Seagate Expansion Card. I believe this is an ongoing list from Reddit [reddit.com]

Hopefully that'll help you out.
OP's is slower. You're linking to the Pro version. "Up to" 1050MB/s vs 2000MB/s.

I just got in on the Series s target deal so new to Xbox world. I know space is super tight on there. Would this be a good external to use with that? I was going to use a 5tb USB 3.0 that I picked up but since this is faster maybe it's better? Main intent is playing older/less intense game pass games. It's connected to an old HDTV. Nothing 4k /too intense really

Would this work well for saving large photo files from a 2020 MacBook pro? I'm new to Mac and I'm looking for a reasonable priced storage device with fast read/write speed.

Lowest price on the 3 Cs is $189.99 so it would appear to be the lowest price. $199 seems to be the going rate.

I have several of these and they are fantastic. Very quick, great build quality. I usually see these for $199 these days.

how to compare this one https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Portable-520MB-Read-Speed/dp/B08RSML1B8/ref=rvi_sccl_4/135-5337937-06... [amazon.com] with OP's?

$130?

Edit, got answer, much slower ...

PS. BB has the same price https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sand...Id=6427551 [bestbuy.com]
it's half the read time as the $160 model. i don't need the faster 1050 speed and can live with 550 for $129. both are very good deals though. neither are slow, one's just faster.

If I wanted to do a DIY solution, could I get it done with a comparable NVME drive + external enclosure for the same price or slightly cheaper? I tried googling around for a few minutes, and I wasn't able to find something for a comparable price. Many of the faster NVME drives are around this price or more - just for the drive, not including enclosure costs.

As a cheaper (and much slower alternative), I guess I could use one of my spare basic SATA drives + an external enclosure, because I don't need blazing fast speeds... Just would need to find a reliable enclosure...

My use case would be mostly for having rescue media, ISOs, local media/podcasts available, as well as a place to offload phone storage - if need be. Thoughts?

It'd be fine.
