The issue is if dell should ship it by tomorrow. amex will not honor the credit.

The failure issues were the reason why the price started to fall down.

I would be very very careful putting anything on these drives, always use it as a double backup or put data that you don't mind losing.

That is not the "real" transaction. It is more like an attempt to verify your card. Dell will charge your card only when they ship the item. If they ship the item after 10/18 and charge your card, Amex may not honor the offer.

I'm not sure when the gen 2 was released but the issues continued but anytime I see one of these on sales, I start to worry and run in the other direction because if they were fixed and brand new, why would they be priced down so much?

The email should be binding and worded in a way that conveys you have completed the offer requirements. Amex should not have problems adjusting should Dell not automatically trigger (you just have to call) otherwise this is a violation of UDAP or some other regulations.

Never buy from dell with an amex offer. you will get scammed. dell will ship the item after the promo is over, charge your card after the promo is over then amex will not honor the deal or issue cash back. its a scam they have a co-collaboration with. amex casually asked me to waste my time to call dell to see if they can get this.. change the "invoice date"- utter nonsense. i showed them the order date and invoice of the purchase date. they will give you the run around. sorry for the caps, but i want everyone to know this is a scam that they put together and are working together with.
