My previous shop vac was from a garage sale as well, I think I got that one for free after buying some other tools - for some reason most people don't want to clean a dirty shopvac (or don't have a compressor that can make cleaning much easier), so they prefer to get rid of old ones and just buy brand new.
Just my 2c.
"not all that powerful"
...what reference material are you guys using for these contradictory statements?
btw, agreed, this isn't a deal at 69$.

It's not going to be 49.99 on black friday. I believe it will be this price in the post.

Maybe - usually estate sales, someone died and garage sales, someone upgraded. I don't think anyone out there scraps a vacuum cause they don't want to clean it (unless they think it is broken) but I have been disappointed in humans before and likely will be again.
As a zero shop vac owner I can't decide if I should completely ignore you as a 5 shop vac owner (because probably don't care about differences) or pay attention to you precisely.
I was doing it without those

Which ones are those?
get the detailing hose kit when it goes on sale and it's a great vac.
