I am actually typing on my older Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite (2020) tablet. I highly recommend the s6 lite tablets. I have various tablets and the s6 lite is my favorite. It lives up to its high score 4.7 out of 5 score (154 reviews).

The air is worth the extra cost if you'll be keeping it for many years. Samsung is good about updates but it's hard to argue with apples long term reliability. If all you'll be doing though is watching content, browsing, and emailing, it may be worth it to save some money and get this instead.

iPad Air is faster, has a better screen and iOS is always somewhat smoother. It's also eligible for trade in both at Apple and Samsung if you were to go that route in the future.

S6 Lite comes with a pen, has expandable memory and has a 3.5mm headphone jack. $120 is still a bit of a difference as well. Available to trade in only at Samsung, Apple literally gives you nothing for non Apple tablets.

If you're a display junkie go for the iPad. If you want to stuff your tablet full of downloaded movies to watch on a trip, potentially using wired headphones, S6 Lite is a very good option for the price.

Help me my friends. Looking for tablets for my 9 and 11 year old who both use iPad 8th gen for school. I've been a Samsung guy but am leaning toward the IPad 9th gen for them. They both love drawing and the older one has been doing some very basic video editing via CapCut, but it maybe something he keeps continuing with. For functions of drawing, youtiluve watching and maybe some of that video stuff, would you guys go for this s6 lite combo, or the iPad 9th gen, or something else. I love this price point with a pen/stylus included. I have both purchased already at around $280, but can get this a little cheaper here, plus if I do go iPad, ill need a stylus purchased as well.
Let's keep it somewhat adultlike.... or at least try without name calling. Thanks for all your help!

At that age I think this would be great plus saves you a ton from having to buy the apple pencil separately.

This crappy thing was not worth it for $250 even in 2019.
Barely 1080 screen and LCD, non-oled. Heavier than the regular S6. It's just a gimmick name to sell a cheap tablet. Would be good for like $150 but not $250, considering the S6 was on sale for $250-300 many times before and it's a much better tablet.

The Amex offer I see is $25 cash back on $250 purchase at Best Buy.

It has to be $250 including tax. For some tax might push the total above $250.

Samsung is really awful with tablet names. Samsung Tablet S6 Lite (2020) and then Tablet S6 Lite (2022) with identical names. They can simply named the second one with S6 Lite SE.

it affects me because I have gift cards from Target and I want to use the gift cards to buy S6 Lite (2022) from Target. Target would price match Amazon and Best Buy.

However, even Target is confused and customer service don't know if they are selling 2020 version or 2022 version.
