If you use Merrill, you may be better off with the BoA unlimited cash rewards, 2.6% unlimited cash back on all purchases (cb depends on total cash/stock holdings at BoA/Merrill).

To get the 75% on credit card bonus, you'd need Platinum Honors which requires $100K with Merrill.

$20K gets you 25% credit card bonus
Yeah, it's a YMMV if you don't have significant investments but once you have that $100k total in your merrill retirement/investment/savings accounts, you get 2.6% on the unlimited cash back everywhere and 5.25% in non-revolving categories (I have one for internet purchases and one for restaurants). I had to move investments from Vanguard but Merrill has all of the Vanguard ETFs so it wasn't a real change.

$100K is not inconsequential.
That's why I posted that people need Platinum Honors to get the 2.6%.
Thank you! I have this card and I literally looked to see if I could create a virtual card with it like 6 hours ago and couldn't find the option so I assumed it wasn't an option. Thanks to your comment I went and looked again and managed to find it this time.
The only issue: if you want to return something bought with virtual CC. Don't think it worth (all) the hassle.

FWIW the average retirement account balance for most adults (who actually have retirement accounts) is greater than 100k, so an IRA at Merrill would do it....and as noted you'll generally have the same/similar investment options in the account once you move it over.
Can someone please recommend a card with at least 2% cash back on every purchase with $0 annual and foreign fees? Been rejected with capital one quicksilver for unknown reason so capital one is not an option for me.

Fidelity Visa is a 2% card with a 1% foreign fee, so you effectively still get 1% back on foreign transactions.
With the Venture X, is it 2% cashback or 2% in points? With the Double Cash, you get 2% cash and don't have to worry about conversions between points and cash.
Exactly! That is why I think citI double is better.
- Discover/Chase freedom for those 5% categories
- Altitude bank visa for Apple Pay/travel purchases. 3% back which is worth 4.5% when used for travel. Works at Costco too.
- Costco card for restaurants when I can't use above - 3%. But also use for Costco gas.
- Citi Double / Capital Venture when I can't use the above
- Amex Hilton for Hilton stays and when credit card warranty is important to me. Also Amex offers.
- Amex platinum / capital Venture for air tickets when getting the 5%.
There was a lady at Costco cashing out her costco citi check - $1800 ish. She was using that card for everything but I think she could have done lot better with some distribution to better rewarding cards for specific purchases.

I use to have this card but I switched it to the PAYPAL Master Card. It gives me 2% on all purchases and if I pay through Paypal and select the credit card then I get 3% cash back.

I'm similar....
1. Discover / Chase Freedom
2. 5% cash back on select category from Citi.(wife also has one... we use one for gas and the other for groceries)
3. Business, Chase cash back card, it gives me 5% off my cell phone bill
4. Two Marriott Credit cards which we use for the free rooms each year (both cost about $100 per year)
5. Lastly, I have a PayPal Cash back Master card that gives me 2% cash back and 3% when using PayPal at checkout.
And I am a Platinum Honors Bank of America customer... maybe I should look into this a bit more.

Low cost items where returning is unlikely.
