Non-TotalTech Members price is $249.99. I have had this since 2018. So far so good!

You must not live in a cold weather area. Being able to start up your car while inside, when your car is covered in snow, and freezing cold. That's the use case.

Insane deal! I think the best this has ever been was $120 2 years ago. I've got this installed on 4 cars so far, and it has never failed me.

Works well enough. Best Buy installation is a crapshoot. Tell them to utilize the full function of the remote device. For example auxiliary keys to activate the rear windshield defroster, since some cars need that to be physically triggered as opposed to the front windshield which is usually automatic if you leave that defroster on when you exit the vehicle.

Also keep in mind that the remote starting process itself will trigger the check engine light and in some cases the VSC or slip indicator lights to flash, sometimes regularly, in some vehicles. Something about the O2 sensor not playing nice with this remote starting mechanism. With that said the device has worked nicely for 2 winters now.
FYI, connecting all of the AUX inputs is not included in the 139/249 price. Not saying don't have them hooked up, but it will be additional labor and maybe a relay or 2, so if you want those features cheaper to do it now rather than later, but not free.

Also, if the remote start is triggering the CEL there is something wrong. HAve them fix it the right way

Anyone know of anything that works on newer model Mercedes? Hate the idea of paying a subscription.

I don't know why people down vote an honest question. Also in Florida before leaving work in the freaking 100⁰ F sun, you car being cold is priceless.
You do realize a remote start can work with A/C too, right? Judging from the comment you quoted, plus your comment, it doesn't seem like you realize this.

Does this replace the key ignition system..I have older cars and the keb fob falls apart every now and then..will this avoid using keys ?
You'll still need the actual key to drive the car.

According to their website my car would work but does anyone have any actual experience with an automatic Jeep wrangler JKU with the standard door locks and windows? I've read conflicting info on websites regarding remote start and this model.
It'll work fine. You're also going to want the ADS-THR-CH5 harness. Lastly, they may charge you about 15 bucks to wire up a relay to control your parking lights. Just how it is with your car.

Is this compatible for 2008 Toyota Prius. Looks like I can't buy using my Prius anyway to get around and get the deal?
This particular bundle uses the DC3 brain. You need a bundle that includes the CM900 and blade. To you, zero difference in usability or features, it's just what's compatible with your car. I don't see any on their website right now, but I'm sure they have it. Maybe go into the store and speak with the installer (not a blue shirt)? This [amazon.com] and this [amazon.com] is the system you need.

Found it. No BMW 3 series
CMBMXA0 and the ADS-THR-BM1 harness is what you need. Best solution, no question.

I've skimmed through the pages so I'm sorry to ask if this has been discussed, is the installation for TT members only?

I selected the location for a BB that does install, and it seemed like it was noted as also going to be installed at the location, but I placed the order without being asked to schedule the installation at any point

Anyone know if this price will be valid for MyBB members tomorrow? Similar to some of the other deals they've had recently.

So i have gotten this remote start in the past. For some reason the 2 stores I usually get it from is not showing up for installation. Any idea?
Could be a few reasons. First, Best Buy has really slimmed down the locations doing any auto installs. Second, the installer at that location has to be coded as "remote start capable". It's not uncommon for a tech in Florida to have never done a remote start. If they don't have that cert on them, you can't book the job. Third, it's possible they're just booked super far out already. 2+ months isn't uncommon in the Northeast during winter.

Is it a good deal at 249? (Don't have the membership) also If I ship to my house do I just take it to my local Best Buy for installation or do I have to pick up where it is available to get the installation for free?
$249 installed for a 2-way system is a very solid deal IMO. You can buy online and take it to any store that offers installation. Keep in mind that not all Best Buy locations during auto installs anymore.
Quote from badpotato :
I have an old Clifford remote start on my 2004 ram. It sucks. Do you think the install would include disabling the old remote start?
Most any installer is going to want to rip all the old stuff out before installing new. They will probably charge you an extra 40-ish bucks to do this too (justifiably so).

AUX channels can be added on. They're an extra charge which varies depending on the vehicle and what exactly you want done. Just "telling them" isn't going to get you AUX triggers for free. This is standard practice at ANY place.

Zero clue WTF you're talking about after that. Sounds like you've got something unique to your car.
Quote from TodayOnly :
so with remote start do you still have to put the ignition key in to unlock the steering?
Yes. You'll need the factory key to drive away.

Looks like the bundle with install is $249 for non-TT members. Still a solid deal.

Does anyone know if Best Buy will uninstall the current Viper alarm I have in my vehicle or would they reject the install altogether because it currently has a aftermarket alarm and they wont want to touch it? I don't mind paying a reasonable amount to remove the old alarm, but don't know if they do that.

back to the remote, $250 is a bit much for my 15 year old car. probably buy some off-brand and install myself.

The is definitely a relative buy. New car or 20 years old, just have it for ONE winter when you don't have to wake up to a freezing car in the dark waiting 10 or even 20 mins to warm (or de-ice) is worth the $150. Because tt member in February for a big discount which offset the cost of membership.

I added the total tech membership to my cart, and also added two kits. The first one is showing at 139.99, the second one is still 249.99. Any idea what I'm doing wrong.
