WTF? Why would 1 TB be too small for OS drive? Which OS takes up 1 TB?

That drive is far slower. If you only care about storage and ps5 usage (rated speed doesn't affect load times/usage based on various findings) then makes sense.

Solid deal for a 1TB with heatsink. Not the fastest, but not slow. Definitely one of the better "bang for the buck" deals.

1tb seems too small for an os drive these days.. I want to see 4tb+ become mainstream by the end of next year. Its time to ramp up densities.
Yep I bought a 1TB and it's almost full in a few months. Going to skip a 2TB and hold out for a 4TB when they become reasonable.

Ill be getting an 18tb hdd because backups are important when moving data btw ssd drives and wiping the old drive to use in another system.

why not just get this 2TB for $110 and add a $9 heatsink?

Totally different class. It even can't reach the ps5 required minimum reading speed. Please don't post wrong information again and again in different posts. please note what you posted is only 4100 reading speeds and no heatsink for ps5.

I haven't seen any review that calls it remotely close to how you describe it. In fact all the reviews on Newgg are superb (see link below). Are you suggesting that your opinion supersedes the 23 actual purchasers and users of the drive who rated it 5 stars on Newegg? On Amazon too, it has great reviews from actual users.

here is one:

"Overall Review: So first, let me point out that I'm an industry expert and I've never heard of these people... Their name sounds familiar, but I can never think of any products they've made.

Second, I normally don't buy unreviewed products, but I saw this offering as a 'pre-order' and got curious, just as I was just finishing up a new PC build.

So after some research... it seems to me that Solidigm is actually one of the companies behind a line of INTEL's enterprise data center storage devices. Yes... they sell TO INTEL and Intel then re-brands with their own label and sells them back to other multi-billion dollar companies, like Google, as their own product.
So if Intel buys from them I figured that's probably as good of an endorsement as any... Buying one would basically be like just buying a new Intel brand drive.

This seems to be Solidigm's first go at the consumer market, hence the pre-orders.
So I figured, why not? I'll give it a try!

So far so good! Scores are definitely consistent with some of the top-of-the-line M2 SSDs."

If the only thing you have on the drive is the windows install then there should be plenty of space left on 1TB, might run the built-in disk cleanup tool especially the cleanup system files option.

Because it's Newegg and off brand. Samsung, Crucial, WD are the most reliable.
Off brand????? Solidigm is owned by Hynix.

"Hynix is the world's second-largest memory chipmaker and the world's third-largest semiconductor company."
