Yes, cameras that are set to record only to local SD card sent video/pictures to Eufy cloud service without your approval.

Great price and I'd like to buy this for my parents backyard but we live in Pacific Northwest. The reviews aren't so great when it comes to rain, going to pass.

I just ordered two of these on black Friday for $20 more per unit. Is there a way to keep the ones I have and get the price match, rather than order two more and return the ones I previously ordered?

Have had it for months and love it! Attached to a tree, so it has full sun for the second half of the day, and I've been at a 100% charge since the first few days.

Also it is a decent distance from my router, but no issues with the signal.

It has a siren too. Which you can trigger any time to freak out the squirrels....

Cam doesn't have 24/7 recording. Spotlight doesn't turn on if black and white night mode is on, it's either one or the other so it can't be used as deterrent unless the location is already very well lit. This is on top of unreliable human detection

Thought it would be good but notification time is horrible as well as motion detection. Also there's that problem if someone were to snatch this, they could wipe it easily. Only thing I really like is the spotlight is bright

Is that the issue where someone can reset it from the device and it wipes it from the hub?

There is no hub necessary. This needs to be mounted high and out of plain sight but then also enough to get solar. I returned this thing. Misses humans slowly walking back and forth.

It seems most of these are terrible with that. I have an Foscam and it is just as bad

No hub involved. Basically a factory reset. Someone has a new camera and you're SOL.
