Rowing by far

Darn I got this for $397 yesterday. Contacting Walmart now for price adjustment partial refund, but they told me to reorder again and return the original. Seems like a waste of effort on both sides.
Same thing happened to me… makes no sense to not just do a price adjustment

Does anyone know Walmart's return policy on open box items? I want to get this for Christmas, but hesitant to open and assemble if Walmart won't give a full refund if we have regrets within 90 days and want to return.
I don't see anything on their terms that says you can't return. Product page says 90 days return policy. https://corporate.walmart.com/pol...urn-policy

Maybe his order was already in the pre-sgipping process ... Too late to cancel?

Is rowing or biking better/easier/healthier?
Better/easier/healthier are three different questions... But: rowing is the most complete total body workout. It engages legs, core, and arms fairly evenly, and will burn the most calories the quickest. You can get on a rowing machine, and burn some serious calories in 10-15 minutes if you try.

Biking primarily works the legs, but can be great cardio. And personally - I think biking can be more fun: I have a 42" cheap smart TV that I mounted in front of my spin bike, and have a blast spinning along with free "scenic bike ride workout" videos on YouTube. I've toured the Alps a lot, Hawaii, Alaska, Ireland, etc. all for free on my spin bike. It's a lot more engaging than videos in front of the rowing machine - where you're going backwards!

If you're looking for a total body workout, rowing is the way to go by a landslide - BUT - the standard exercise caveats apply: you'll only get out of it what you put in. It is 100% possible to get a great total body workout without zero "exercise gear" - it just takes discipline and time. Bikes and rowing machines (and ellipticals and weight machines, etc.) make exercising a bit more fun - and that's the value.

Most exercise equipment becomes clothing racks or ends up on craigslist when people realize that it won't magically sharpen their abs for them.

Does this work with peloton or no ?
I have used mine with the peloton app for 2 years. After tinkering my preferred setup is using my iPhone with a Bluetooth cadence monitor from Amazon and an Apple Watch for heart rate. I also built an Arduino project called my cadence which I have attached to the bike.

Yes, but you need to convert the resistance from this bike to Peloton units. You can print out a small cheat sheet and tape it to the side of your screen or use the QZ app on your phone which does it automatically. You'll need a second screen (iPad or TV) to view the Peloton workouts and of course the Peloton digital subscription which is cheaper than the Echelon one

This or EX-15 from amazon. Suggestions please. Debating between these 2. I want to use peloton app and not depend on Echelon subscription.

Do you need the subscription for normal biking / stats tracking?
There is a minimal display without the subscription. It's kind of buried in the app.

Great deal but a good bit of misinformation on the first page. I bought the original "Sport" model without a built in screen for $500 about two years ago. I do not regret it at all.

It is magnetic, and it doesn't necessarily have to have a paid membership.

Since this comes with a trial membership, use it and see if you like it. Mine came with a 6 month, and I enjoyed the Echelon classes even though I planned on using the bike for Peleton classes.

So yes, you can pay for the membership, or use it for Peleton/ YTube classes with your own screen- there is a spot built into the handle bars. The screen on the bike will provide metrics without an Echelon paid subscription.

Because they hope it's inconvenient enough for you to not do it therefore, zero effort for them lol

No, you can use the app for stats and such without a subscription, but it is a bit cumbersome, you have to navigate through the menu each time to start it without a class. The best bargain is to get this bike, and use the Pelton app (like $10/month for non Pelton subscribers) and a partner app called QZ domyos. QZ converts the resistance numbers to the Pelton numbers and on some models can do auto resistance adjustment real time with the Peleton classes. It does require two devices though (tablet running the class and a phone running the app.) QZ also works with zwift (another popular fitness app).

edit- not sure how it would work with the integrated screen. I have an older version. you can join the QZ group here on Facebook and the person who built the app is very active there.
