Does this works if I am grandfathered from sprint ?

edit:

"the offer will require the customer be on a Magenta biller (not Sprint) and have 2 or more (paid) lines. For reference, "Magenta Biller"

No go for Tmobile ONE 9-12 lines (for me)

Still check with a few agents if you have time to spare. My exact plan might not be the reason why I'm not eligible.

UPDATE: T-Mobile App Chat said I was eligible and added a line for me. The BYOD promotion shows up on the Plan Details and Service Promos pages. Two other promotions of mine no longer show up but Tforce confirmed they are still active.

Seems most people who are told are not eligible, are able to add the line and see the promotion. We shall see if they stick.

I did that until the the CC details. It is asking me to change to magenta plan. I am on the one plus promo plan with 2 paid lines and 1 free line. But it says $20 due monthly. I don't want to lose the one plus promo plan. Any suggestions?
For your plan, you can't do it on your own then. Call, text, facebook, or twitter Tmobile customer service.

I allows me but I don't know if it will push me into a new plan. So i am hesitant to submit the order. I did try other options but everyone denied saying my account is not eligible for this promo.

How do you add line on your own? do you just add a line or is there a code you have to apply? Sorry, if it is answered earlier, but could not find.
  1. Login to your account online
  2. Click Add a person or device to my account
  3. Click Bring your own phone
  4. Select either eSIM or physical SIM
  5. Check out from there
  6. It will shows $20, $30, or $40 per month depending on your account type and number of existing lines. If you get the promotion, you'll receive equal amount of credit to make the line free
  7. To check your promotion enrollment, go to My account -> Account activity or Bill & pay -> Scroll all the way down and click View my discounts & promotions -> Service promos. If you selected eSIM, you should see the promo in minutes. If you selected physical SIM it won't show up until after the SIM is shipped

I think I am on the same plan. Website calls it "2 Lines ONE Plan All In Promo" and I have a third line I got for free several years ago. When I try to add a line it also wants me to switch to a Magenta plan, stating that they no longer sell my plan. But my current plan is $100/mo (or less with Kickback) and the Magenta plan is listed at $160/mo. Even if the new line is free, that's still $40/mo more than I am paying now. So I guess we're stuck.

Yup, I agree. Same here. Switching to magenta plan from the one plan all in one promo seems like a bad idea but then we can never get any of these lines. I pay $80 for 3 lines with insider discount. It will be foolish to move to magenta and pay more. I guess we will stay put. I have my one son on mint mobile due to this T-Mobile restriction.

Called the rep, seems like I had the promo. However later found out I was not eligible since I had cancelled a line in November. Has anyone been able to use the promo in spite of cancelling a line in the past 90 days ?

If you're eligible, you'd have to reactivate the cancelled line then add the new line.

Yes. I gave the tmobile rep my iPad's IMEI and they approved everything. The sim card is on it's way.
Seems cool. Could I just use an older LG tablet I'd gotten from T-Mobile for this? They will then send me a sim? I'd probably wanna get a new iPad with 5g. Will I be able to switch to that once I get it? Correct me if I'm wrong, you can't get kickback on tablet lines, right?

Someone suggested contacting support. I may try that in the morning and see if they can add a line to the existing plan on their end. And if so, if it ends up being free. I tried asking through Chat this morning if I was eligible and was told I was not, but seems like plenty of people who were told no initially were able to get it by adding a line.
We don't currently need a fourth line. We're not even using the free third line at the moment. But with two kids we will eventually need lines for both of them. But that's still years away, so no reason to pay more now.

I checked under service promo and there is nothing there. Does this mean I am not eligible? Thank you

Tmo customer for over 20 years - for those that may remember I was with Voicestream. Have SimpleChoice. 2 paid lines, got a free line Nov. 2021. Saw this so called yesterday. Person could not find the offer, promised to call me today - has not called. Got bumped up to Supervisor - he told me to watch for offer in my email on Fri or Sat.

Went to a TMO corporate retail location. They checked - said I was not part of the offering.

Called this morning. Got another person. He was appreciative of my loyalty with TMO of over 20 yrs, but still only offered to give me another line for me to pay for.

Got on chat - person told me that offer is pre-determined by the system and it will show in your account once you are eligible to take the offer, but as of the moment, your account is not yet enrolled with this deal, but TMO is still working on it...

Told that I guess I was disappointed and will now have to cancel my TMO service. He said for a valued customer as myself he can request the promotion be applied to my account.

I asked that rather than requesting, why dont you just enable it?

They will waive activation fee. I requested SIM be mailed. Filled out form asking for credit card info and then got email sent to me

So he keeps saying he will call me on MOnday.

Stay tuned....
They can't just enable it because T-mobile updated their billing system a few year back and promos are no longer manually entered by regular reps. They get applied to the accounts automatically by the billing system. The billing system validates that the account meets the requirements and then applies it.

To add it to your account requires the rep to escalate your request to a supervisor or manager that has the access to manually enter and apply promos. That is why he is telling you that he will call you back Monday, he has to wait for whoever he has to contact get back to him and then he gets back to you.

I wanted to report back what happened to me.

I messaged T-Force and they replied back to just add a line online and don't worry about the charge, the line will be free once it goes through.

Followed the add a line steps online. I picked the sim card option. Once I got the shipping information, the new line showed up.

Under promos, I see the discount.

Damn easy. Thanks OP and everyone else.

I'm on the Amplified Plan, which is the employer discounted plan, which is the plan that give Magenta Max benefits at the Magenta price.

We're all on FRLTUL2LP and are maxed at 3 lines. You can find the details at the wiki in this 2020 thread.

I tried to message T-Force through Twitter twice but haven't gotten any response after over 24 hours. I asked them if I can switch to FRLTULF2 and then add a holiday unwrapped line. I get the same change to Magenta issue online that would double my bill if I try to add a line, and when I tried iMessage, they wanted to switch me to Magenta and so I declined.

I'm also pretty sure we're getting de-prioritized heavily in busy areas like Essentials does. I have to use Xfinity Mobile on the pay by GB in busy areas.

Excerpt from the wiki on the 2020 thread by GreenCreature437 (my first post in the current thread)

Still on TMO ONE All In Promo plan (FRLTUL2LP) which is never eligible for free lines?

This is a great (grandfathered) plan as it gives you 2 lines for $100 or $80 after 2GB data limit kickback on the 2 lines (or even less if you have the plan with T-Mobile employee hookup code). Plus with the additional promotion you get HD streaming, 10GB full speed hotspot and twice the international data speed (256kbs instead of 128kbs).

BUT... this account only supports 3 lines and unless you got the one free line they offered once under this plan you never got and will never get a free line with the plan.

But if the plan works out for you can move to another T-Mobile One plan (FRLTULF2) which cost a little bit more (2 lines for $120 or $100 after kickbacks) but you will be eligible for the free line and hopefully for additional free lines in the future (the plan supports up to 8 lines in total). The reps are also be able to move the kickback and ONE Plus promotion to the new plan. They might not do it immediately for the new free line but this is also possible and might need another try.
Plus the new plan includes $10.99 Netflix Standard HD account contribution which also needs to be factored in as a bonus.

If you want to get out of that hole and make the change here is my conversation regarding the plan change with T-Force on Twitter:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144023981#post144023981

Then I called 611 at night and asked the overseas team to also add the promo add-ons to new free line so that all lines on the account have the ONE Plus promo (no kickback on the free line of course):
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144031265#post144031265

Summary of the process and overview of changes:
https://slickdeals.net/f/14713250-t-mobile-customers-add-a-line-for-free-starting-december-20th?p=144039584#post144039584

As I wrote it needs some time and the right reps to make it happen as I struggled with reps in the past to switch to a different T-Mobile One plan and not ending up with a Magenta plan and losing the kickback and One Plus promotion.

I added a new line myself using T-Mobile app, on Simple Choice plan. They added $15 data plan automatically - will have to call them fix that.

My previous two free lines are showing as

2020 Line On Us 2
2021 Line On Us 6

However the latest addition shoes up as

2022 BYOD Line P1

There is nothing to indicate that it's free.

Anyone else got something different or interpret it differently?
