During the last deal like this I was able to return the stand netting the saw for roughly $162. It's a nice stand but I already have one

I did the same, great deal for just the saw and have used it a few times now with no issues of it not sliding smoothly. Could it be better, yes. But not at this price and mobility.

Do you think it's worth $162. I'm thinking more interested in how good the saw deal is by itself

I'm about to close on a house and need to rebuild the deck. Would that be a good saw for a project like this?

Yes. Perfect for something like a deck. Portable and powerful enough

This would work well, just make sure you have a couple of backup batteries.

As is the case with half of my SD purchases.

I've been using this saw for a kitchen remodel. Been working like a champ. Just give it a second to ramp up to full speed before cutting.

Super tempted to grab the saw and return the stand. $144 before tax and it comes with a 4.0 HP battery that I can likely sell for ~40 on FB MP. I have their 71/4" brushed miter saw which is fine for 2x4's but not much else.

I am planning to build a wood shed foundation for the Costco 6x5 resin shed. So will be cutting 2x4 and plywood. I only have a jigsaw. Would this be a good purchase for me?

Can someone educate me on the quality of Ryobi? Always thought of them as disposable tools from after a few months of usage.

Far from disposable, perfect for DIYer. I only buy the brushless models and they've impressed plenty of people that have other brands. I don't think you'll be disappointed, but like all brands there are a few tools that are flops so read reviews. They seem to be improving as they come out with new versions of each tool.
