If you want to compare this to similar heaters from other brands this model is closest to the Mr. Heater "Big Buddy" model which regularly sells in the $150 price range and is currently $112 at Amazon.

Can be used inside is vague. For short durations or on occasion, yes, but i'd use a bit of ventilation and some other safeguards.
I wouldn't consider it wise to run it inside all winter.
so is the connection for the 20lb tank included?
"Two 1 lb LP Tank Run Time: 2 hrs (high) - 8 hrs (low)"
will 20lb tank give me 20 hrs (high) - 3 days 8 hrs (low) ?

As a personal owner of both a "Little Buddy" & "Big Buddy"; more or less what this item is designed as a cheaper model of (specifically the Big Buddy). I can tell you than during this winter's (2022) storm in Western NY we were experiencing blizzard conditions (80mph winds/4-6 feet of snow/5-25 degree F Temps) for about 5 days. Of my reserve of ten (16oz) pounder containers for the Little Buddy & a single 8 lb. unit I built and just pay by the pound to have refilled feeding the Big Buddy; when our natural gas (hydronic hot water baseboard) boiler/furnace was only producing heat to the 2nd level & basement, leaving the primary 1st floor unheated. After only one night (9 hrs) without supplemental propane heaters the inside temp on the 1st level quickly dropped to 51 degrees. The house is extremely well kept and everything is more than up to date in terms of insulation, sealing, etc....but it is of a mid-1970's era construction located in a suburban Cul-de-sac style community. I ran through all 10 of the "pounders" & all 7 lbs. of the larger container around the 5th day. I did have electric heaters on hand as well, but they don't hold a candle to the output of one of the propane units. You're talkin' 1500 watts vs. like 30,000 btu output....someone else can convert that, lol. Whatever choice you end up making. Invest in an extension hose that connects to a large container (grill tanks will do just fine) or purchase a 16oz. pounder refill kit. The system is extremely expensive to operate if you expect to feed it nothing but pounders at $3-$6 each.
We were without power for over 5 days during an ice storm a while back, these saved us. It's always a good idea to have a backup heat source.
You can buy one at WM.
I use it with a 5 lb tank and the hose I have is really stiff. Its the only complaint I have, the hose. But I purchased that and a adapter seperate to get my 5lb tank to work with it. My 5lb tank is about the size of the heater, so it works for indoor and outdoor with no hassle.
I would suggest a Y adapter so you can use the tank at max output vs 1 side. But, I use this just for myself, and a couple feet from my seating area works fine outdoors.
Th4ese are prone to go out if there is wind in the direction. So other than that, this propane fuel is a great heater.
Fan to work takes D size batteries.
Is this true that you cannot use a 20 lb tank indoors? Garage or house?
Also in the pics on the website, the bottles stick out 45° when attached. Do they retract in flush with the unit?

It is not recommended. The larger the tank the larger the potential of an explosion or fire. With that said you do what you want. Obviously make sure the tank isn't leaking and odds are you will be fine. Keep the tank away from the heat source as well of course.

It requires two 1lb tanks, one on each side, to get the full btu output. I assume the tanks sit inside the covers fully once installed. That pic is most likely to demonstrate how the tanks attach.
OK, that makes sense. I'm looking at the Big Buddy and using their 10' hose. That will help keep the tank outside.
Good heads up on the vehicle. Tend to forget about the gas tank.
