This is a solid product for the price. However, if you won't finish your build for several months, no point in buying a GPU now I'd say. The upcoming products (e.g. RTX 4070, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT etc) are direct replacements/upgrades for this class of GPU and would put additional pressure on retailers to discount last gen. Depending on when you finish your build, you could also benefit from things like president's day, memorial day, amazon prime day sales etc.

Also, there's hardly any reason there would be shortages this year based on public financial reports released by TSMC, NVIDIA, AMD etc. All reports indicate the main supplier TSMC has excess capacity and sales are down, especially for desktop GPUs.

I only do photo and video and I have the RX 570 now and I notice a nice bump in speed.

But my computer is 2 years old.

Should I upgrade to this video card?
This is like 3x faster than rx570

I was thinking good deal but holding true to my price target...if that rebate was $11.25 it'd be a screaming buy

Guys this is an insane farking deal. Anyone who wants to game greatly. This card sits right in between a 3060ti and 3070. It's literally right in between its a good amount better than a 3060ti but not quite a 3070. It's right there but the price is way better.

Is this comparable to a 3070? I don't game a ton but looking for the ability to game in 4k in some older games like Forza Horizon 5.
Slightly below but comparable unless you want ray tracing or DLSS.

Can we still yell "HolD tHe LiNe?"

Asking for about 80 slickdeal users who probably have never installed a GPU...

Can we still reward companies for bad behavior by throwing money at overpriced high margin products? If people don't hold the line these ridiculous prices like $1199 for a 4080 and $800 for a 4070ti will become the new normal. They are $200-300 overpriced, easily.

Nvidia sees itself as the new Apple, and the problem is AMD doesn't step up when they could to gain market share, and of course the gamers who throw their money at overpriced items like most americans do to have them now, and then their personal savings rate hits all time lows.

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/PSAVERT

This one of the best bang for the buck cards out there right now. It's a fraction of the cost to game in 1440p without raytracing... the hardware costs around 1/3 to 1/4 the price, and this includes monitors. I can understand the people with lots of disposable income getting a 4090, but what I don't understand is why someone would buy a 3060, or their recently announced 4060 which is going to cost $500 and barely be more powerful than this. Their 4070ti which costs $900 only has 12GB of RAM. There are no extra "features" in low end Nvidia products and they never put enough RAM in their products either.

Gamers have no self control, that is the problem. They're not willing to hold corporations accountable. Nvidia has seen people will pay well over $1000 for a video card, so that's what they charge.

This or 6750xt
Up to you. The 6700xt is the second lowest in cost per frame. Basically you're not getting ripped off, especially by Nvidia.

Cost per frame at 12:45 mark.

I have this card. It sucks at RT, but good with other stuff. The fan can be loud unless you turn it off

I didn't notice any increase, but it's in a FD Define case.

Except the next gen cards are ridiculously overpriced. Once the past gen sells out have fun spending $800 for a 4070.
