Beware, these are plagued with QC issues. The one I got from Verizon had issues registering A/Y presses at certain angles, a very common issue with the entire series 2. Ended up returning it.

For the price, you would think they would have iron all these issues since V2

You would think but they haven't, if anything it's worse. I bought an Elite 2 from Best Buy a while ago and all of the face buttons had issues and maybe registered about the half the time when I pushed them. I returned it and went back to using my literally falling apart Elite 1 with peeling grips and broken left bumper.

Don't buy these. The controller feels great, but they never addressed problems with button insensitivity, and shoulder buttons double-tapping or and eventually not registering at all. Look at any thread on this, and you'll see people who have returned several only to find they all have the same issue.

Waning: Do not buy this product.
Known button lag and stick out of the box (look at reviews). I bought and returned 3 during the Verizon sale and had issues with each controller.

It's been a while since I purchased an Elite Controller (though my last was also a series 2), or perhaps the introduction of a 'Core' model flew under my radar (the normal controller is now a 'Starter Bundle'), but I was somewhat disappointed when this controller arrived yesterday from the Woot deal yesterday.

This specific product does not include any of the back-paddles, replacement thumbsticks, nor the swap-out cardinal direction d-pad. The general product description makes mention of these, but they are not included when you scroll down to review the contents of the box. It strictly includes the Controller, the two base thumbsticks and d-pad, along with the cable and tool to adjust the thumbstick resistance.

For someone like me who has ordered an Elite Controller Series 2 in the past, I didn't bother to look at the details. This is a non-issue for me as I can swap paddles from my older controllers, but for potential new buyers who hear positive things from friends/family around its features, it's just something to be aware of.

That's what the "Core" part is. It's just the base controller for those that don't need everything the full Elite controllers come with and want to purchase the few they want separately. Or... for previous Elite owners whose controllers inevitably develop stick drift or bumpers not working and already have all the accessories. I will never buy an Elite controller from anywhere but Costco, since they wear out so quickly. They use the same potentiometers in the joysticks as every other console controller, and they're only rated for 300-400 hours of gameplay (depending on how stick intensive the game is). That's only about 6 months, if you play 2 hours/day everyday. There's no reason a $100-$180 controller shouldn't have hall-effect sensors (they aren't much more expensive and last a lifetime) other than the planned obsolescence they keep getting sued for.
