I just used this for the first time today to cut through nails on pallets. It is ok. It is good for around $30. It would not be good at full price. I got it for cutting pallet boards/nails and cut cherry wood for my smoker down to size. It seems well built but not that powerful. I think the branch holder will come in handy when I trim trees.
I find that with these small single-hand models, brushless motors are necessary. Otherwise the power is just not there. I have a Skil model that's brushless and it's surprisingly effective.

These are meant for light duty usage. Seen lots of professional especially plumbers use them. They use for cutting thru drywall and pvc pipes.
Thanks for the video link. I was on the fence about buying this. In for one.
It's a QVC commercial. Of course the product's going to work like magic. Seach youtube and see if there any other actual USERS or owners posting reviews of the Sun Joe recip saw.

Could I use this to cut down a small tree in my yard?
I cut down several overgrown shrubs in my yard 2 weeks ago after the chainsaw chain popped off. Worked well. Also a good deal in that the offer includes the battery. They go for triple that with no tool...so if you have other items like the leaf blower, good deal to get extra batteries.
Been using mine a few weeks now. I really enjoy it. I've used it to prune trees and cut the branches up for firewood. The jaws keep it stable on branches. Helps to cut them smaller for the fire pit. It will cut about 5" wood if I start with the jaws and then move to the end of the blade to finish the cut. The jaws limit the depth of cut, but they reduce vibration when I push them up next to the wood to finish the cut. I've had several nights sitting by the fire cutting the limbs up and throwing them in. Couldn't really do that with a chainsaw. Campers take note.

Edit: it seems stronger than initially expected, here is a QVC demo video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5X9KOK

Pretty happy with mine for light duty and an extra battery always good for my blower.
