get your story together lil one
Here is a little YouTube video to explain
Is There A Problem? SSDs Affected By Swap Memory on M1 Macs - YouTube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MRL33-bFuq8
it's too bad apple slap these really good chips on but limit it and I believe it's intentional with low ram, and worse cooling so its performance is under their higher priced MacBook pros. when in reality the CPU can yield much better results in devices like Mac minis.
Right? People bash a phone if it's not 16GB but when it comes to a computer like a Mac you need more ram for video editing, photo editing, and music production. Its like wat is going on.
they really are more efficient. Some iPads are 2gb ram

yikes.
the other week, dell had a refurb intel i7/512gb ssd/16gb ram laptop WITH A TOUCHSCREEN for $250. granted, we don't have a time machine, but you're paying FOUR times as much for HALF the specs.
but hey, if you got money fallin' out of yer pockets when you walk down the street, more power to ya!
Been a PC user forever, but am also director at a broadcast company where all of my production team uses macs. Most recently deployed M1 Mac Studios to them and those machines simply scream for editing / 3D etc. My Ryzen based PC w/ 64GB of RAM can't touch them.
I've started using a MBP more and more over the last year, and find myself opening up my Windows laptop less and less. I don't do editing, and for my tasks 8GB is more than enough. Again, you simply can't compare the experience offered by an M1 / M2 based 8GB equipped Mac with what you'd experience with an 8GB equipped PC. Move on.

Here is some from Linus tech tips, somewhat of a "reputable tech reviewer" I believe.

So it seems the m2 base model is still bottlenecked by the ram, the ssd is slower even than the m1, and thermal throttling worse. while msrp increased.
I'm not saying that machines over heating, SSD drive wear, and throttling isn't a thing. All machines will do all that at some point. My point was that for the mass majority of people this machine is more than capable.
Great find. Thanks for posting.
