You're getting MagSafe charging which can potentially free up one of the two thunderbolt ports depending on your setup (if you plug into an external monitor it probably doesn't matter).
ProRes encoding/decoding support. A slightly larger screen (mostly to accommodate the notch) with 100 nits more brightness. 1080p webcam. More color options. Slightly thinner and lighter design.
I agree for most people it's not likely to be a significant difference. Personally I like the M2 design better than the M1. If I'm getting a thin-and-light computer I want to flex that for all it's worth.
Another way to look at it is: If you don't think the base M1 version meets your needs, why do you think the base M2 version will?
