Speakers are under an awning and are holding up well after a few months. It's survived heat, rain, cold, and snow since August so far. For the price it's good.

I did that with chrome cast audio for years when they sold the dongle for like $30. Now it's built into the newer ones and unfortunately they disconnected that product. Can find "dumb" receivers that are super powerful and great on local second hand sites for next to nothing.

I've had these speakers mounted outdoors in wisconsin for 11 years. The plastic wire mounts finally rotted and broke this past summer. Ordered another pair for $50. Great speakers and almost bulletproof. They sound great.

I have had the bigger ones on my patio for 8 years. They have survived 120 degree summers in the desert. And still sound great. Nice bass. They play quite loud.

I wish they were BT.
It's too much work to connect these to the receiver and run the wires from inside to the outside patio.

Dual was a brand carried by former electronics store chain Circuit City. I actually have a pair of Dual bookshelf speakers sitting around with my old entertainment system connected as a 2.1 speaker system setup from the early 2000's. I have to tell you they still work to this day with crisp sound - pretty incredible. I would not hesitate to pick up Dual brand speakers, but I would definitely go with the Yamaha brand for the same price. Just make sure you check out the specs to ensure they are comparable. Don't pass this Yamaha deal if you're in the market for outdoor patio speakers.
