Bestbuy is also offering 24 months financing, with the Best Buy card on Home theater Purchases of $999 and up or you can get 5% back with the bestbuy card and no financing.

People seem to be VERY satisfied with this unit( and its Pioneer brethren) especially when used with a separate amp
While you dont receive the full Dirac suite, many that have compared them to higher units say they are no slouches
If you are interested in the closer to flagship Denon/Marantz products you should really look at something like the Arcam or the Anthem
Significantly more musical and the room correction is head and shoulders above Audyssey
I just swapped a Marantz pre/pro for an Arcam unit last week end
No contest..Dirac all day long over Audyssey
Better center channel clarity, better channel separation and steering and more " nuanced" sound in the small details
All of that without all the tweaking( and retweaking) you have to do for Audyssey
Correct, Of course would rather have the remote go bad.... I am using my previous generation remote for it now, of course, the one that comes with it is real nice, lights up, motion activated, can do macros, etc.... So, want the one that comes w/ it to work..lol I honestly have not heard of great things for sound united's warranty service so I am pretty sure they(all receiver companies although only 4 really remain) are all the same where they make you send the unit back on your dime, wait for how ever long, then they send it back to you. The thing is people still believe there is a parts shortage ,however, that really is not the case, the whole supply chain thing for these companies has mostly been rectified. I have said now for more then a year when people said on here that prices will come down, I always said that MSRPs will continue to stay sky high as they now can just blame inflation, etc and have the once in a while "sale" price like the Rz-50 is right now but off of the overinflated $1599 ridiculous MSRP! As long as there is demand at these inflated prices no manufacturer will ever lower there prices, simple supply /demand economics.
That's capitalism, it has its drawbacks but complaining about not paying prior years price is futile IMO.
On the plus side Onkyo/Pioneer adding Dirac at this price causes competition which is a good thing.
Prior to 2017 it had no competition(other than extremely high end RC) and even now it's still at the top.
That gap difference changed when Audyssey introduced the Editor app and even much more with MultEQ-X which are much cheaper.
You then add all this lore that all you have to do is run Dirac and poof a magic pill!
When someone says that, either they don't know what they are doing or have an agenda(red flag).
If you think Dirac is the exception to "no manufacturer will ever lower there prices" , I would say you are misguided.
I would say Sony's new RC and so many getting away from true setups and going to soundbars adds to that pressure also.
I for one hope Sony's RC turns out to be good, keep driving that price down.
This is where Denon offering it as a option is a good thing (in many ways) IMO.
They come out with low enough price, I'll bite.
It wasnt just the menu. It was acting weird with my firestick. Kept hdmi switching for some reason when switching to dolby vision (i think).
Certain combinations/brands dont seem to play nice, with each other, using HDMI-CEC
I can tell you that myself and a friend had the same issue with a Roku/Samsung TV and Pioneer AVR combination
The Roku would consistently take over when you were using another input and change HDMI inputs
I plugged the Roku directly into the Samsung TV and let it feed the audio to the Pioneer AVR through ARC and problem solved
Was looking for something to replace my older marantz sr5007. I have been searching all week. Never heard of dirac until i stumbled upon it. Seems to be loved by all and im shocked its free on this receiver.
I was looking at the marantz cinema 50 but I dont see much justifying the $1k extra plus $350 for dirac licensing.
Bought the onkyo from best buy with 4% CB and 10% in rewards back on my betbuy account/credit card.
Lets see how this new receiver sounds!
I am in a very similar situation. I have an older Marantz SR7008 and would love the Cinema 50 but jeez the price point difference seems crazy. My 10-year old Marantz does a respectable job but no Atmos support of course. PS5 is connected to A80J bypassing the Marantz for obvious reasons. Now I do have two subs so that's the only thing holding me back from getting the RZ50 at this point. Open floorplan room configuration is a 5.2.4. Sooo . . . how does it sound compared to the Marantz?

I couldn't get dirac working due to a noisy room. Played around with levels for hours but it was a no go . I was over it and just decided to return the unit. Just didn't feel like the onkyo was going to last. I'll just wait for the cinema 50 to go on sale . Onkyo didn't sound better than my marantz but I didn't get dirac working.

If I wanted to go pre/pro, I'd likely go Trinnov.

Me too, I like it, Apple Care on four phones, 2 Macs and Camera
