These TVs, up to this point at least, always have issues. 4K120 gaming is an issue, banding & posterization are issues, etc. This set uses the same SOC as the 2021 U8G (which is also 8 bit FRC panel), so while they added mini LED tech to this U8H it still has some of the same issues.

Basically if you've never had an OLED or QLED, you'll tolerate the issues because the picture quality is a massive improvement in most cases. If you have experience with QLED/OLED you might find the issues unforgivable.

The U8K dropping this summer should have a different SOC so it will be interesting to see if some issues are mitigated or remain. Hisense is gonna be in a tough spot if QD-OLED moves closer in price…if I can get a QD-OLED for under $1500 I don't know that I'd buy a Hisense ULED/MiniLED for $1000 (even though they keep improving it).

I have an older "premium" Hisense - the H8G from late 2020. Picture quality is fantastic esp. for the price. My brother got the same model and neither of us have had any issues.

One thing to keep in mind though: do not expect any reasonable software update support. Mine is still stuck on the Feb 2021 android security patch. I reached out to their support to see if there was a later update that wasn't showing up OTA, and they sent me an update file timestamped Mar 2021 so I didn't even bother installing it.

That's about half a year of security update support from when it was released to market.

If you get this, I would recommended against connecting it to the internet and instead using a streaming box/stick that doesn't leave a hole in your network.

Any concerns that this isn't a true 10 inch panel and instead an 8 bit with FRC? I understand the reviews at sites like Rtings are great, but lots of user reviews out there showing issues with banding and posterization on this TV.

Best you can get for the price. Yes it has bad motion and banding and is no good at upscaling. Other than that it's great.

I was gonna say the rtings thing. That's disappointing if there are some visual banding issues on this honestly... Might need to remove this off my watchlist.

I think there was a deal when this first came out, $1000 with a $100 gift card. This is essentially the same price without the gift card. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

For people looking for a basement price…the 2021 65" U8G eventually got down to $650-750 when this model came out & they were basically selling off remaining stock of the prior year model. This was pre inflation but might give you an indicator of how low it could go in 3-6 more months.

PCRichard had it for 879 late last year, so technically that was lower but they're not available to everyone. As far as I can tell this matches the lowest price from Amazon and Best Buy

Depends on whether you can notice it or not. Human eyes are different, and we're not machines (rtings score is based device)

Well user reviews are definitely human eyes. But seem to be in opposition to Rtings. Personally, I put more stock in visual opinion of a TV in real use scenarios.

I have the 75 inch, and I didn't notice any of these. Maybe it's time to check my eyes😅

I believe lowest was $849- But this is the lowest in quite some time. Been monitoring it's prices I have $300 in Best Buy giftcards, $50 of which expire mid April.Good enough for me to pull the trigger.

What's a good TV brand that does do updates on the software for TVs? Sony and LG? That's the issue I have right now with my current tv I have a Samsung KS8500 and an update to the software was meant to be given to also give HDR 10 support but that never materialized. If they haven't given much update then I might definitely look at other TV brands.
