Come on. Do not add pre-conditions to earn more. We are talking about no pre-conditions to earn 2% cash back on everything purchase and you just can't find the card to earn more. If you like conditions such as annual fee, member to open a bank account etc, that is a different thing. People may not like those conditions.

I'm too scared to apply at this point after reading a couple of posts about getting their credit score bell rung. Already applied for 2 in the last week and afraid that might count as too many inquiries. And got denied on one of them. Just the only 2 that was applied in the past 2 years. No debt and 800+ score. I don't know why but getting denied on CC apps feels worst than getting rejected at the bars by 20 women lol.
I don't know for sure if being a Wells Fargo customer improves your odds of being approved, but I already had a checking account with them when I applied for this card and I was approved instantly with a very mediocre credit score

A long time ago when I had no credit Wells was the only one to give me a credit card and it was likely because I was a customer.
I have Old bad credit (charge offs etc) from decades ago.
But want to use a credit card to pay off a delinquent utility bill to rebuild my credit.
Would this card be good? Or too hard to get?
Or any suggestions from anyone?
If you want to go the Wells Fargo way they have the Reflect with 0 APR for the first 21 months.
be wary, wells fargo products are a pita to cancel.. cant do it via secure message nor email.. you must call and speak to a rep w/ a heavy accent and get tossed around in their phone tag
Well the funny thing is, I actually recommend something similar to a friend of mines and it is quite literally the best thing she could do.
The APR is 18% on a 2k+ balance and she can't seem to pay off that balance since the 18% is making it pretty hard. She has 710 credit score so she'd qualify for this. I told her to just get the card, do a balance transfer which will charge an upfront 3% that's that. It's 0% APR for 15 months.
So this will result in a $60 or so fee up front but she'll have 15 months not having to worry about the accrued interest that is keeping her from paying it off. So instead of lose 18% every month on everything she couldn't pay off, she now has one thing to worry about is to pay it off monthly and use that 18% that she'd pay otherwise to interest into paying even more of the card off. I did warn her that she may be in a worse position if she fails to pay off the account balance and do not make use of the 0% APR for the following 15 months.

This is correct if you read the reviews for this card on line they say exactly this.
This is a free $200 if you just pay it off on time. I have other credit cards that offer better rewards so the only reason to even sign up for this card is for the free $200. Otherwise, yes, there are better credit cards if you spend money often... Common sense. not every credit card will fit your needs which is why banks offer many different varieties.
TY captain obvious. the point they are making is buying things you other wise would with a credit card to improve your credit. I have never had nor needed credit, but many people want to buy a house or car on credit. If that is you then using credit cards responsibly is a good way to build credit. GF has a 815 credit score right now because I taught her how to use credit cards responsibly and pay off 60k credit card in 2 years. $200 for signing up and using a decent credit card seems like a good move for many people.
Exactly.. pay them off in full statement wise.. if something happens cool you can lean on it for an emergency.. but the main focus is to not carry balances.. if you have a 0% interest rate for x amount of months make sure to pay it all off before the final date.. it's really not hard. I have gotten 16 cards now all active all in good standing and man they are really helpful unlocking doors.. just have to have self discipline
Ps got this on just a few hours ago I think that's a win
