I have one of these. The sliding mechanism eventually gives out and you're left with a flash drive that retracts when you try to plug it in from either side. You can still keep it from doing that by blocking the rail with a finger but still frustrating.
Seems to be about normal/regular price these days (per CCC). Pay no attention to the $60 "regular price".
I have one of these, and it's a pain to use. They don't lock into place very well, so when you go to insert it into a USB port, the USB stick goes back into the casing. Stay away from this design in my opinion.

ya, I wish they'd just make it without the slide cover. I assume one could remove the slide cover after it stops working.

Can confirm. Mine is also doing this. The locking mechanism is way under designed.
I've had a few of these since ~2019, all continue to work fine and I do enjoy the mixed use capability for USB-A and USB-C device interoperability.. all seem to continue to work fine today, easy plug in and move between 2015, 2017 computers and 2019/2023 mostly USB-C machines. I don't use them DAILY, but weekly or monthly for sure. YMMV
P.s. I'd certainly ADD a 256GB when it falls below $20

Shillin like a villain.
Don't buy these for random performance or long transfers. Premium for the form factor and aesthetic, but not terribly expensive right now.

Tbf, MSRP lost its meaning quite some time ago. It's why we are here because it just doesn't make sense anymore.
