A slightly better deal. I got this deal awhile back when it was either $500 or $550. Either way, great laptop. Ram can NOT be upgraded. But you can replace the single 4.0 drive.
The last time this was posted at $549 by some poor guy, it was heavily downvoted: https://slickdeals.net/f/16508170-asus-zenbook-14-2-8k-oled-laptop-i5-1240p-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-549-99?attrsrc=sear
The hypocrisy here surprises me.

That said, I bought an Asus laptop with 8gb of RAM...in 2012. Since then, the processor has vastly improved; the SSD has doubled; the screen resolution went from FHD to 2.8K; and the memory is...the same size. Yes, it's faster and more efficient, but it just doesn't seem right.
As for Chrome, I have 5 tabs right now, and it's taking 2gb of RAM. Such a hog!

Try another browser. Opera GX has a built-in feature where you can manually cap RAM use.
