Ground slope away from house, 1' of foundation/joists, 8' to ceiling, 1' of structure, 8' to ceiling/eve, plus height of fascia gives about 19' for the height of a typical second story gutter.

There's also the lean angle of the ladder to consider (you can do the trigonometry if you want to) and the safety need for several inches of the ladder to be above the contact point (a couple feet if you want to actually climb on the roof) and you'll be needing a much taller ladder than this to reach the gutters of a typical two story American home.

Keep in mind that this ladder is only 19 feet. 'Reach' means they calculate in the average human body height minus your legs ( I guess). If you're working above 19 ft., you have nothing to grab on to.... for safety purposes, consider getting a longer ladder.

The last multi position ladder i got I think for 18ft, man it was a chore to lug around. Definitely sturdy. The straight extension ladder was still a lot lighter. I feel like by almost half. If this is almost 40lbs, what's the lightest 22ft ladder for reference from people who work with ladders often?

Edit:

Okay, I was one of the folks who couldn't purchase via pick-up earlier today (making it $35 for delivery), but I checked the website again and it looked like they refreshed stock. Stock showed as 127 at my point of purchase, and I was able to order for pick-up at my local HD. I hope you guys get a chance too!

The HD website showed none in stock by me, but I was heading there anyway. Checked the ladder dept. and saw 3 sitting on the shelf. Scanned at $229, but they checked my phone and saw $167. They agreed to price match it since it didn't say "Online Only". $167 and no shipping because it fit in my trunk with the rear seat folded down (it's about 5' 6" tall). I was surprised how light this was compared to similar ladders I've used. Thanks OP!

Wasn't seeing an available ship to store option. Added to cart and then it populated. Order placed, thanks!

Have this, bought one also for my son to use at his house. Great ladder, albeit heavy to lug around. The 18' reach one is more often on sale but in my view, the reach of that one is a bit short. Years ago it was BF special at $99 but this is the lowest I've seen in a long while

Will this fit ladder in a Hyundai Elantra, Mercedes-Benz C300 or Tesla Model Y (seats folded down) when folded up?
You can drive with your trunk open and let the ladder stick out the back. Strap it down inside (4 straps at Home Depot will set you back <$10). As I understand it, you need to tie something red to the end of the bulky item and it can't stick out more than 4' from the back of your car.

I have the Little Giant that is the same size. These ladders are a jack-of-all-trades and mast of none. If you want one ladder that can do everything, but you don't plan to use it too often, then this one will work, but don't expect it to be easy to use in almost any situation.

The problem with these is that they're very heavy. They weigh about 50% more than an extension ladder of similar height. This makes them harder to move around and set up.

For me, the hassle is worth it because I use a ladder 4-5 times per year. But there are times (like this last weekend when I was cleaning windows) that I think it might be worth it to have a separate step/platform ladder and extension ladder.

I got one. It's a great ladder- very versatile. I grabbed mine for a $99 crackhead sale where I literally sped one Home Depot to another based on app availability and they were selling right in front of me. This is a great price here, get it- it's a great ladder
