It also works well as a security camera with its hi def image. It's quite easy to isolate and view recorded video triggered by people, cars, or pets.
Plus, no subscription fees. So a no brainer for folks who have PoE and no need for active paid security monitoring.
FYI, I also have the Reolink Duo spotlights in the front and back of the house as well as E1 Pros coming in soon. That's how much I like their ecosystem.

Good hardware and no mandatory subscription which is nice
Yes slightly, you get text notifications instead of rich notifications with images

Get the New, 128 GB, you need an Endurance SD card, it's more like a real hard drive, error correction hardware on board. On sale $12.99 for 128GB.
The more capacity the less wear for the same amount of writing as it's over a bigger capacity. Cost of SD vs capacity vs wear, your call.. 64GB is the lowest you should go because of wear.
Many car dash cams get bad reviews because a standard SD card was used. These endurance cards used to be way more expensive.
You now have Wi-Fi.
Setup, turn off DHCP on it, Site Survey both 2.4, 5 bands to get it on line, tell it to use cross banding, i.e. use the best band available for that wifi back hauling, the device will automaticallyswitch. Don't advertise or if you can don't turn on the wifi SSID access. You don't need it, nor want to load the extender with other devices, just the hard wired door bell.
This is how I avoided devices with piss poor Wi-Fi built in, you can upgrade it.
Just went to Wifi 6 AC, AX MESH network, so on one of my security camerasI installed a Wi-Fi AC extender replacing a very old extender that was just getting the job done.
Just buy a decent extender.
It also allows you to use that ethernet cable as an extension cord to move your Wi-Fi exdender close to the main network router or real access point, vs stuck with it in the device itself
