AMD 7000 series has the worst drivers ever created just look at their forums stay away from them right now the drivers are very unstable
Haha your FUD doesn't work on me we'lve owned a 7900xtx since Feb and other than 1 single bad driver which we quickly rolled back (10d ago), ZERO ISSUES. NVidia drivers actually have been more unstable this spring than AMD !!

I really enjoy destroying the 4080 in 4K with my 7900xtx which is smaller and more versatile and looks much cooler than that gigantic dogpile 4080!!

"Destroy" lmao

The 7900xtx is a whole 4% faster at 4k while the 4080 is more power efficient and has DLSS, cuda, nvenc support, better RT support, nvidia voice, etc.. it's definitely not more versatile. It's just better price for raw performance if all you care about is raster.

Nothing wrong with either sides cards, just depends on what you want and need. The 7900xtx is an absolute no go for anyone that needs cuda cores for work.

Stop simping to mega corps that don't care about you. Lisa Su isn't gonna touch your pp. Nvidia and AMD are both "bad"

So what is the actual end-user cost including all fees if you use the zip-pay loan feature?

By the way, original thread about this card with more details and discussion about "Why the price was not $599 at start" - well TSMC charges for VLSI chips have DOUBLED in the most recent (4nm vs. 8nm) generation and this is an ALL NEW architecture, ALL NEW software, ALL NEW chiplets GPU (never been done before! Spock said it's only a theory!)

Yes TSMC was charging a lot more for their new chips. There was a lot of demand back then for their new 5nm chips. It might be better now I'm not sure.

If you go look up the starting MSRP of the 30 series cards from Nvidia and compare that to the MSRP of the new 40 series GPU's you will find the difference can't be just from TSMC or "inflation".

While inflation is real a large percentage of a lot of the current "inflation" is from Corporation's raising their prices because they can. They just say it's due to "inflation" and everyone accepts it.

It's the big corporations who don't have any or very little competition that are to blame. There's only a few Corporation's that control most of the food we eat. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the cost of food being so high.

I'm sure someone will disagree with that and all I have to say is open your eyes.

Those are publicly traded companies. You can look at their finances. You can't post record profits and then turn around and say you need to raise your prices because your costs are going up and you have to pass it on to consumers. That makes no sense.

My point is that people have a right to be upset.

Personally I think Nvidia looked at how people would buy their GPU's at super inflated prices due to crypto miners and figured they'd jack up the price because eventually people will pay the price. Those that can't can buy the last gen cards that they "discount" for them. Except those are inflated to so win win.

AMD is just doing what companies do and just undercutting the leader.

Or they are both colluding with each other and doing a little price fixing. Not a uncommon thing when only two companies control almost the entire market.

Don't assume corporations aren't screwing you over. Assume they are. You will be right most of the time and pleasantly surprised when your wrong.

So AMD still has crappy features and drivers with a bit cheaper price and focusing on raw performance and RAM huh? Not much has changed. They were never able to really compete with Nvidia but the console business and CPUs kept them from going straight out of business.

The driver problem was a 5-7yr-ago thing. But NVidia sheeple are still scared away, so NVidia uses it to scare customers right into their own poisoned jaws ...

I switched two cards over to AMD from Nvidia this year with no problem's. Don't believe all the crap you hear. Both brands have driver issues.

I was a long time Nvidia user who recently switched to RX 6800 XT. Absolute zero driver issues. I do not have a RX 7000 series card so I cannot comment on the driver stability of the new gen. But 6000 series really positively surprised me about AMD cards.
