I have older versions of this camera, their app is pretty bad, not much options on setting, you cannot even schedule when to turn it on or off. For this price, it is pretty good deal for entry level if you don't request much.

Wouldn't recommend these. The lag is pretty significant. By lag, I mean there's a several second delay from what the camera sees to what you see on your phone when doing a live stream. I can't recall if there were any other negatives, but that issue, along with any other ones, were enough for me to return the camera.
Actually the lag is much better than Blink

You can ask them via Amazon, if they refused the warranty, Amazon will take the money back to you.
No worries from Amazon purchases

Sounds about right for a chinese company. Give you a run around for months or just don't cover the warranty.

Good idea. This is what eBay will also do if they have advertised a warranty. I couldn't get an item replaced under warranty. They even blocked my comments. Reached out to eBay and they took down their listings and the company reached out to me to make it right. As soon as they shipped one, eBay reinstated their listings. Was pleased with how eBay handled it.

No, it is not right for any company not honor warranty.
If your purchases were from Amazon, ask seller question via Amazon. if the seller refuses to honor its warranty, just asking Amazon to intervene , you will get full payment back.
LaView is long standing company selling security cameras in US market for many years, it is trustable . you have your cc company for backup for 120 days mostly. Amazon can help for the rest...

Do these cameras require some kind of active cloud account for the AI person-detection to work? I was looking at getting a Wyze Cam 3 but one of the reviews said that it required using the cloud storage account in order to use that person-detection feature (although they did offer a free-level subscription that could be used to enable it). Curious if there is any similar requirement with these or if the AI is all handled locally without any cloud subscription.

Also, page 3 of the user manual from the listing (linked below) says it accepts a 128 GB card max, but those max specs are often incorrect. Anyone used a larger SD card?

Got these on the last Amazon deal so I had these for a bit over a year now.

No real complaints and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Battery life is about 2-3 months before I hve to recharge and that's with 40-60 notifications/recording a day. My one detection complaint is that it recognizes my black dog and mailbox as human when they're obviously not. About 3-5 second lag on initial notification, then If you go live it's pretty much gone.

Just keep in mind it's a Chinese owned brand, I set mine up on a guest network so that it can't snoop on my main network, I wouldn't recommend plugging it in through Ethernet for privacy concern s I read online. No cloud recording for me, everything goes to 128gb SD card but you could set up a NAS if u need more.8.5/10 for me, just my 2 cents

OK, will try a set! Says free returns for 30 days.

Can you view videos on your cell phone if you do not pay for the cloud service?

Thanks, also can you view video captures on your SD card on the app? Or do you need to remove it?

no, it's all on the app, you can record clips or live actions directly onto your phone as well, the only thing I don't like is doesn't have the ability to snooze or disable notifications for let say 1 hour like I can do on ring or eufy. but again this is so cheap and picture quality is well worth it

Researching NAS!

I can add a USB stick to my Linksys 5300 nodes and have used that before for file transfers.

Never tried a setup on capturing from a wifi device on the network. Although you may be able to save pics to it from an iphone????
