Exactly what I was about to say. For about 150 I have picked up a refurbished chainsaw and 5ah battery and then on a separate deal. I picked up a blower and five amp hour battery for around 150.

Great deal for the battery alone. It's the lowest Amazon has ever directly sold it for. Still, I would probably just wait on a deal for a chainsaw or blower that includes a 4aH battery for $160-180.

This is a good buy for this battery. I purchased this when it was around $145. It lasts all day in my Ego fan, as long as I don't leave it on turbo. If I do utilize turbo, it still lasts several hours. I like the new fuel gauge, it's much better than the old style. If you're like me and you already have all the Ego tools you need or don't want to deal with reselling another tool, this is a good price. Otherwise, you can do as others have mentioned and wait for a sale on a kit.

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. My 3 year old 7.5Ah battery that came with my mower isn't going far enough anymore and has lots of trouble recharging in the heat (I've moved it's charger indoors). I have 2x 2.5Ah batteries for other tools but they're completely useless in the mower! Sometimes those only run for a few minutes before they drain or overheat.

This is really tempting. I have a 7.5Ah battery that came with my mower and it is on the fritz. It is within the battery warranty period but I'd love to have a second/back up for the mower. 🤔

Have you got the turbo charger? I am hearing those work alot better than the cheaper chargers. Its also better for the battery

I have the turbo charger. It has a fan that blows cool air (assuming you keep it inside). through the battery when charging and its pretty fast. But if you want to kill your battery charge it while its hot and leave it outdoors. My 7.5 are 3-5 years old and almost working at 90% of charge.

You can muse but I keep my batteries in the basement all year round and only charge in the basement. If you don't have a basement keep them in the house unless you like lighting money on fire.

In any case the turbo charger says you can supposedly charge a hot battery because of the fan, but outside that it doesn't really have any other bennies except for a fine trickle charge that doesnt overvolt the battery.

So it may seem counterintuitive but when using LIon chemistry never charge them when they are hot and you should have enough battery to avoid that situation. So it will cost you less in the long run to have two larger batteries than run down 1 to failure every time and maybe get another to run through the rest of your workflow. In any case if you run them down let them cool then charge, because also keeping Li chem at low SOC also kills them pretty readily of fully at 100% all the time.

In general Li Ion suck, so when solid or LFP batteries come out I will be happy.

Did that with one of mine, they just sent me a new one. Their batteries are utter garbage. Sorry to say

Pro-tip, at least on this particular ego snowblower, you can mix batteries. So you can combine this 4.0 Ah with a 5.0 Ah or 2.5 Ah you might already have.
I'm in for one for this reason! Thanks for sharing

Not sure what snow thrower you are referring to but mine is parallel (56+56), so it will run to the lowest battery Ah. So if you have a 2 and a 7.5, it will only run to a two because it is a parallel not series snowthrower. So YMMV. Do they have ones that run on 56V only now? That is more interesting however the power is probably gimped in some manner.

Running 2 different capacity batteries in a simple parallel circuit is extreme amateur hour. I am sure its using some sort of circuitry to balance the load. I believe ego calls their tech peak power or something similar.
