Interesting how we first moved from 4:3 to widescreens and now widescreens feel ancient 😆

Was that in gaming, in which case it would be no surprise. But if this can run off the integrated GPU for non-gaming instead of the RTX 3050, it should be able to run longer on a 70wh battery. That being said, CPU has a base power of 45w, vs. most of the i#-13## cpus that are more like 10-15w, so yeh...not going to be efficient. Any computer with a power CPU like this is more of a desktop replacement with portability than a highly mobile work/school from anywhere all day laptop.

I actually looked at this laptop in the store before I bought my ZenBook Flip 15 (12th gen i7, Arc A370m) open box for about $880. The 1080p OLED is super grainy. If you want one of these laptops, get the i9 version with the 2k screen… MUCH better and has the same 3050 6GB.

That is crazy, but I would give up some nits for more battery life. Can't use it unless it stays on unless you are okay being tethered to a power source. Still a reasonable price for the power of you are okay with these limits.

ASUS have an habit of creating trashy laptop whose only draw is OLED even thought some are only 1080p PenTile which is about 720p on IPS. The company really is ruining its name with those low-end machines

I just received mine. Condition is good, but dang you're right about that pentile display. Pixels just aren't as sharp as they could be. I really didn't think I'd notice on a 15.6" display, but texts have a "shimmer" to them which can be distracting. Will need to tweak and test battery life to see if I can live with this laptop. I will say I do like the build quality (but it's a fingerprint magnet) and it's been whisper quiet. Will update with any other findings.

On initial setup, mine prompted me for fingerprints. It works really quickly on login. Can't speak to facial recognition as I won't be using that feature.

a) 15.6" Vs. preferred 16"
b) glossy (reflective with annoying distractions) screen Vs. preferred matter zero glare screen.

For these reasons only, I'm out.

After tweaking the display in Windows' calibration tool adjusting gamma and saturation (both were way too high), the screen is now really nice. I no longer see any blurring of text after running through Windows' clear text prompt as well. For those worried about battery life, I'm now 5 hours in from a full charge watching streaming video, browsing, and basic tasks I'm sitting at 34%. Yesterday, when downloading/installing programs the PC lasted just over 4 hours. So, yea I'd say battery life is average.

The keyboard is good, but would rather have no 10 key and instead enlarged basic keys. Build quality, speaker quality, and thermals are all really good. I ran cinebench r23 and got in the 13k range and the fans were barely humming. Also, played some Forza at 1080p highish settings and it ran well enough.

I was on the fence about this initially, but it's won me over. I only needed a lil bit of juice when I can't use my primary PC and this fits the bill nicely. Also, the OLED screen is great for media consumption and the speakers again are really nice.

45w RTX 3050 is going to be very limiting in terms of gaming
Yeah, this is the low-power config 3050 for efficiency instead of what I would rather a dedicated gpu be doing, which is running as much pwr as it can handle thermally. 45w on a 4050 doesn't seem to hurt as much from what I saw in review testing, but the 30-series still scales with watts, so this is disappointing.

How loud does this get compared to the quietest fan/air cooled recent Intel 12th/13th gen laptops?
