I think the issue is no fast charging because USBA is limited in it's current handling, whereas USBC can handle far higher wattage.

You specifically won't be able to charge a device with a USB-C to USB-C cable.

Trying to just carry 1 usbc to usbc cable for all devices, this having no usbc output makes it a crappy power bank in 2023.

I've had this one for four years no problems charge it twice a week. Charges my Samsung S21 in about 45 minutes twice.
