Lots of issues on Ally. There's issue where it will heat your SD card up, breaking it.

Steam Deck is a much better deal, especially if you're willing to upgrade the SSD yourself (if you purchase the base 64GB model).

Not going to debate the merits of Steam Deck vs Legion Go vs ROG Ally - if you want a gaming pc handheld today and it's gotta have Windows, the Ally is the best bet, and getting one for less than $600 is great. However, I remember seeing reports at launch that people were returning units with issues to Best Buy (such as with the sticks), only for BB to turn right around and sell them as "Open-Box." Maybe things have improved at BB since then, maybe people just weren't patient enough to install all the Ally's updates before returning them, and you do have a 15-day return window - just keep in mind that YMMV might REALLY apply to this deal, especially since there are quite a few reported issues with the Ally.

If you buy this, test it thoroughly.

Have had mine for a few months and play it everyday. Adult gamer with kids and busy job this thing has made gaming in the chaos of life a gamechanger. Play little bit here and there wherever, whenever. The infamous backlog slowly trimming down. No issues with SD card roasting but maybe I'm lucky. Love everything about this thing. Sold Steam Deck for this and once you get it set up it's legit.
