Lol this is literally the opposite of reality. Unless you're a trim carpenter all you'll be doing on a miter saw is rough chopping to length. The table saw can do, with far more precision, the work of at least 8 different tools.

How does this compare to the Dewalt DWS780?

Edit: For those who care, apparently this saw doesn't come with a shadow light or laser.

From what I understand the Lowe's app and website were showing the deal prices originally at stores that had them, but it is no longer working. The price was incorrect on the app while I was in store buying mine and I got the discounted price

Laser lines and shadow lines are kind of hard to understand the usefulness of. Just make your pencil mark and use your eye as you drop the blade down. After a few cuts you would know t even think twice. Definitely Bosch over DeWalt.
Laser lines are not needed for cutting flat boards, but are very handy when cutting crown moldings.
TBH you don't need a sliding compound miter saw if you only cut flat boards.

I was at Lowes last week and was able to purchase both the Bosch 10 inch table saw and the Bosch 12 inch miter saw at the sale price. The prices went back to their regular price a day or two later.

I also helped a fellow customer load one of the Delta contractor saws that was at the sale price.

Does anyone know if this was an advertised sale or an advertised mistake? Was there a weekly advertisement for this sale?

I had this saw and quickly got rid of it. This is NOT a precision saw. If you are only rough cutting 2x lumber then it may be fine, but definitely not for fine woodworking. It has a serious precision issue that cannot be solved by calibration. There was a long thread on the "BeThePro" official bosch forum about this issue before the site was shut down. The joint of the arm mechanism is not milled at a high enough precision, making the head twist when the arm is being stretched.

If you are okay with the traditional style miter saw then stick with it. The rail is actually a much more robust mechanism than the arm. If you can find a demo machine, try to push the head sideways and compare it with other demo units. You'd be surprised how little force it takes to shake the head of this saw.

If you absolutely need the spacing-spacing, go with rail-forward saws (Makita, Metabo and Festool).
If you think any miter saw is "precision" then I got news for you. If you want accurate and precise cuts you shouldn't be using a miter saw.

I checked my local store and it was full price, but there was a metabo on sale at $199 instead of $399

12-in 15-Amp Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Corded Miter Saw with Laser Guide https://www.lowes.com/pd/Metabo-H...1000990786

Is this still a good miter saw for the price ?

A few years ago, I missed out on the last gen Metabo dual bevel sliding 12in saw on clearance around $140. Sometimes, things have a way of working out for the better. I got a Ryobi single bevel 12in sliding for $150 and I absolutely love it. I also tried out a Metabo non-sliding for $130 and realized that I am more comfortable with and absolutely love the LED light marker. I don't like the laser at all on the Metabos. Of course, the Ryobi comes with a so-so blade, but that can easily be replaced. Im wondering how easy it would be to add an LED light to this Metabo...that might be the great equalizer for me, but im not sure how reliable it would be.. I know there are youtube videos on how to do it, but I dont know if it works on all saws and I dont know how reliable they are as a DIY add-ion.

I dont get why people love this deal so much. There have been much cheaper 12 in slliding dual and single bevel miter saw deals in the last few years. Is the quality on this that much better than the Metabo, Dewalt, and Ryobi that were $200 or under in the last few years? $325 still seems pricy. Doesnt even come with either laser or shadow line. I get that you can add the shadow line for $20, but thats more expense.

Things at different price points have different build qualities and features sometimes. If $325 seems pricy to you, then this probably isn't a saw you need and you will be more than happy with one of the sub $200 saws you listed when it is on sale. There is absolutely nothing wrong with ANY of those saws
