Lots of times it's someone who changed their mind on specs or size / color and used it for 30 minutes and boxed it right back up. I think that's worth the extra savings but that's me

its also $1049 new if you don't have a BB membership, $999 is if you do.

This. Every time I look at the Air, I can't help but consider the M1 Pro 14" a vastly better deal. The only good thing about the Air (13 or 15) is that it's cheap ($900, $1000) vs the 14" MBP. Once you upgrade the Air even a little, that's no longer the case, and the M1 Pro 14" becomes, IMHO, the better deal.

They have been in the high 800's as well with prior sales. $882 is the lowest I have seen for the Starlight color.

What's the AppleCare+ eligibility for models sold this way? What's other folks experiences?

If you are near an Apple store it does not matter. You can walk in an apple store and add Apple Care near the end of the 1-year warranty period if you'd like. It still counts from the date when the device was first purchased though.

Got a Silver 256GB (Open-Box Satisfactory) for $825.00, it came without charger and cable, had a scratch in the Apple logo and had 4 battery cycles. It was firstly started in the beginning of September so I had 11 months Apple warranty.

Noticed the Space Grey 512GB (Open-Box Excellent) is coming out at $1041.00 so got one of those and will return the 256GB one. Thanks for finding this OP.

256GB is not enough and cannot be expanded. The price is ridiculous in my opinion. Most folk would be better off with an M1 with 512GB or 1 TB.

Nice find! I pulled the trigger also. What do we think is the better deal, between the 16gb for $1041 vs 8gb for $900

What's the return policy on these? 15 days or within the holiday return policy?

Also you can use a Thunderbolt small external enclosure for not much and have an additonal 2TB. No question than 256 is frustrating in 2023. I think Apple is making a mistake there. Default should be 512 and 16 RAM should be a nominal cost. Ideally just bump the specs ro 165/512 and then 32/1TB. The world of desktops is so much different now.

Hoping at some point there will be a good discount on the 16GB models.

Thanks Op. ordered one for local pickup.
what should I be checking during pickup, is there a checklist of items? for e.g. battery cycles, warranty info etc...etc...
does anyone know what's the return policy on these?
Thanks

Brand new looks to be $999 ($300 off). Am I missing something as to why 10% extra reduction for open box is worth it?
