This is the best on the market
This is the 2nd best price we seen in awhile. A few months back, it was $90.
I've seen others rumbling in other threads that HDD suppliers are tightening up supply so the constant dip in price may be at a halt for a while. Black Friday is around the corner though

Amazing drive for my Steam PC. Sad I paid $180 for it 6 months ago, but oh well. Definitely pick up a heat sink if your motherboard doesn't have one.

Was that price ($90) on the WD website?

Many vendors, including Amazon, IIRC.

Just make sure you understand that this drive comes without the heatsink and will overheat if you use it in PS5 or computers with tight space.

Can anyone provide a link for a quality heat sink - I meant thermal pad to glue it on?

Not at all. Don't get me wrong, it's still top 10 overall score. And even tho it's been $89 before, this is still a decent price.

But there are like 40 something drives that are a little faster, including the A440 pro, which is currently $92.

Thermalright makes one that is well-rated and inexpensive. Link [amazon.com]

Yes if you really need 2TB for the boot drive
Crazy idea, but you can actually install all your large games on the boot drive too! Imagine that.

Seems to be true. Haven't seen many deals on these at all in the past 2 weeks.

I'm running a 500GB on my old PC and routinely run out of space with just the OS and software. 1TB would have been ok for the new rig, but for the minimal cost difference at these prices I figured why not have the extra overhead?

Looking for a 2TB NVMe for my Lenovo T480s - any recommendation other than this one?

That heatsink is double-sided, so very few if any laptops can accommodate it. Even a single-sided heatsink is trouble for many laptops. More recent laptops come equipped with a heat shield for the drive slot, so with those you would not need a separate heatsink.
