Another way to put it is this CPU is better than the 11th gen Intel i7-11800H. The GPU has the same benchmark results as a 4060 laptop GPU. The combined AMD CPU and GPU means there will be shared RAM, making the total RAM effectively 24GB for productivity. A nice addition is the MUX switch, which will help save battery life when not gaming.

The i7 has a better single core performance than the ryzen according to this Passmark score

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu....+i7-12650H

But the ryzen has a better multi core score according to Passmark as well

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu....HS&id=5138

Considering the scores are well above 20,000 Passmark, being paired with a mobile RX 7600 GPU, is plenty fast, there will not be a cpu bottleneck here with the ryzen, the GPU if anything would hold it back. And honestly for this price of a mobile gaming laptop this looks pretty good with the MUX switch which will help with better performance. More info on what that does here

I have one of these, purchased the last time the price dropped. It's been a great machine so far, screen is phenomenal for the price range and the GPU performance is adequate.
Pros:
Fairly fast, as long as you don't demand top of the line performance it will be fine. Still 6 cores of Zen 3 working for you.
Adequate GPU, may have to turn a few things down but will play modern games easily.
Great screen, most laptops in this price range have crappy 45% NTSC screens.

Cons:
Plasticy, the plastic tends to collect fingerprints and oil and it doesn't feel quite as solid as some laptops. Not a big deal but doesn't look and feel as good as it could.
Noisy. As to be expected the fans crank up the volume when gaming. Doesn't seem to get too hot though.
No camera shutter. This one is a weird oversight and the webcam itself isn't great but that's not why you would buy this laptop to begin with.

4/5 is what I would give it.

Either way, lighter and better battery life is still better than heavier and poorer battery life.
Not for my needs. Nobody buys a gaming laptop for battery life lol.

Hey!

I'm trying to find a gaming laptop which will give me the most performance graphic-wise. The battery-life isn't much of a concern for me.

Can anyone recommend a good choice with a budget of $800?

Probably the laptop this thread is for.

I would recommend this Acer Predator for the newer tech and better screen:

On scouring through reviews the GPU seems to be comparable to the 3060.
The CPU is a rebranded zen3 based cpu which is worse than the 12th gen intel i7 equivalent(https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...vsm2011483).
The battery life does seem to be great though and this is cheaper than any 3060 laptop as of now.
The only other deal at this price right now is the gigabyte G5 with the 4060 - i7-12650H , which is superior on paper but has abysmal battery, worse support and a limited watt GPU that causes it to perform closer to a 4050. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TlDaKjWhQA)

So my question is this really a good deal at this price or is it advisable to wait for a deal on a 4060 laptop?
Best place to compare mobile GPUs:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...844.0.html

For mobile CPUs:
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Mob...436.0.html

Notebookcheck tends to have really good real-world ranking, compared to some things like CPUMark. Each GPU and also has a description page.

Unfortunately, there were better deals last month - seems to be the pattern lately where everyone waits until November in the hopes that they'll get the best deals then and that's exactly when it's really just mild deals.

I would say if you need some light gaming, this would be enough.
My man is worried it won't run Solitaire. You guys are ridiculous sometimes.

If you need better CPU (which I do recommend with more memory (you need at least 16GB, and more hard drive). You should wait.
This has 16GB of RAM. You don't actually need more outside of very specific workloads.

This is way, way above the light gaming class you put it in, we're just discussing price, yea it's great but so is $ in your pocket and people are out to get a good deal. Seems like a decent deal on a good FHD+ gaming rig with a seemingly above-average screen.

This thing will struggle a bit to play Starfield. Probably the lowest spec'ed system you'd want to actually do this with.
Does AMD have something like GeForce Experience which scans installed games and optimizes their settings for the GPU installed in your system? Wonder if optimal setting for the 7600S would make a noticeable diff. You probably won't hit 165Hz more of the time but you may have a better experience.

All you have to do is disable useless settings, turn down shadow quality, etc. It's always obvious stuff lol. Don't need an optimizer...

Oh, some definitely do! Say... anybody who uses the laptop for something besides gaming. Portability and battery life matter then.

Or in my case I need it to be efficient because I'm running it on a mobile solar system. I'm not considering anything with an HX processor.

The 4050 and 7600S are nearly identical in performance. Check Jarrod. Also, look at the Notebookcheck comparison of the two and you'll see that the 4050 gaming laptops are at least as good.

No it is not. It performs just as good or better in most games. Add frame generation in some games and it is not even close.

Sir, this is a gaming laptop. Anyone who buys it for something else, does not need a gaming laptop. Cheers!

The gb of ram is way worse especially if you look at the shared memory aspect
