Wondering if putting some tape overt he switch would prevent dust getting underneath? I had a similar issue with a Porter Cable Variable Speed Sander. Shouldn't have to do that, but maybe eliminates the problem and makes it functional?

Has there been other tools that were probably more appropriate for the job that I was doing? Probably. But this is pretty versatile and can make pretty accurate cuts when necessary for small DIY projects.
I have the Ryobi one because I had the same "this might be good to have at the right moment" mentality, but with how much it's been used I definitely wish I spent a little more for a nicer one with less vibration and quick blade changes, but it's still one of the most useful tools I have.
