Is the RT81+ at $200 a better deal than the RT82 at $300?

edit: nevermind, just noticed this is the normal RT81, not the plus.

Considering the either the RT81 or the RT82 + Art DJ Pre II preamp for an extra $155. Can anyone comment whether the RT82 is worth almost 2x?

I've been waiting for these to go on sale. But I'm not seeing that $200 price.

Nm, I got it. I have a AT LP60, is this an upgrade?

The only RT81 I can get to show up for $200 is the white one.

What am I missing?

This is what I am seeing too: Only the white one at this price right now I think all colors were on sale when I posted it, but I can't be sure now.

It's definitely an upgrade from the LP60. Any of these would be an upgrade. Adjustable counterweight and Headshell that will accept different cartridges and stylii.

Also for those trying to compare these. They don't make it easy but the rt81 and 81 plus, difference is the platters. One is the acrylic which is supposedly an upgrade. The cartridge/stylus combo is a little different too. Both 80 and 81 units have internal preamp or you can use external preamp unless utilizing phono inputs.

Once you get to RT82, you will need an external preamp or have dedicated phono inputs.

You can do some research to see what is worth "upgrading" at time of purchase. One can easily get lost down rabbit hole upgrading turntables.

The RT-81+ doesn't make sense at the $300 price while the non-Plus model is on sale for only $200. The difference is actually only the mat (a $10 upgrade over the rubber one based on the Accessories pricing on their website). And the catridges are very comparable (a $4 difference on Amazon). You would be paying as much as for the RT-82 and getting almost nothing for it.

I misread that. You are correct. Definitely NOT worth 100 bucks more.

Overall, I think even the non-Plus RT-81 doesn't add much value over the RT-80 to be worth the $40 premium. Either get the RT-80 or step up to the RT-82 (or something else entirely).

Ah, ok. Thank you for clarifying. I have a Sony STRDH190, so I would need to buy the RT82.

Not necessarily. You have a phono input. The RT80 and 81 both have internal preamps but do not have to be used. They have switches on the rear to choose whether you want line or phono level.

Sub $100 or its not really a deal. They are just off loading product. Turn table fad is over. You can find quality used ones regularly
Maybe, or maybe not. BTW, Turntable is one word and to play vinyl records it requires a TURNTABLE.

Way to be a employee parading as an enthusiasts.

I would post links to listing that's that prove otherwise but then SD would remove the comment. They are out there and easy to find.

Do fall for this Corp promo tactic
